Exactly. There will always be some type of bias when judging these movies. Overall, I love Marvel comics in general, but Spider-Man will always be my #1 hero. I haven't seen it yet, but chances are I will prefer TASM over X-Men: First Class (which is still a great movie IMO, loved it).

X-men FC was far more inspired than TASM, which honest to god felt like an alt world SM1, but I agree the film does deserve a high 70% maybe an 80. I wouldn't go 1% over 80 though, that's just fanboy speak.

Well if ASM doesn't deserve 81% than neither does SM1 or X-men because it's far superior to those movie.

The crowd I with was constantly laughing, tearing up and cheering.

I don't remember anyone doing too much of those during SM1, X-men, or even First Class.

And that ain't ”fanboy speak” it's the honest truth.

The film has been out for a day. Wait a year then compare.

ASM is far from perfect as are those other films. The all have their strengths and weaknesses.

I'm a casual X-men fan at best, but XFC brought way more to the table than this movie did. And I loved TASM, but it just seems strange, like the people who wrote the movie are living in some parallel universe where Sam Raimi doesn't exist.

You have Batman Begins which tells a very different story than Batman '89, and this movie aside from mechanical web shooters, is nearly a duplicate of Spider-man '02.
