Guillermo del Toro's The Strain coming to FX - Part 1

Death was on the menu for more than one show tonight. Damn.

Ballsy move, Palmer.

Given their destroying their native soil isn't a requirement to kill an ancient in this adaptation, I wonder what the second nuke's for. I also wonder if they'll do something else with the Master.

Didn't expect them to kill off both Angel and Feraldo in the same episode like that. At least not until the final season. It felt like a waste to save her character from being infected to only kill her a couple of episodes later. Shame I liked both characters.

Spoiler for The Walking Dead ep0701 ahead!
That's now officially called the "Glenn Treatment."

Another amazing episode. This season has been great. The endgame is definitely in sight. So happy to see Quinlan return! Palmer is an awesome character. Great performance by Jonathan Hyde.

Angel dies at the end of book 2 and this season is wrapping up that book I assume that's why they had him die this season.

And it doesn't feel like a waste. It feels like life. Surviving one near-death encounter in a world over run with near-death encounters doesn't make a person immune from death. A person might survive one day and get killed the next. The showrunners may have wanted to lure the audience into a false sense of safety with Feraldo which is really the audience's fault for allowing themselves to think a character is safe. This show has been overdo for a reaping. Prepare for The Fall. Next week's finale episode will probably be brutal.

It was originally pitched as a movie trilogy by GDT, but when studio's rejected it, he wrote the books instead. Which have subsequently been made into a TV show.

Just started season 3 last night, loved the first episode. I knew The Master was going to make mincemeat out if those Navy Seals.

Sorry for the late response, but I am intrigued by the idea of The Strain originally to be a movie trilogy. I wonder how things would have turned out?

Well, they did go out in a blaze of glory. :rimshot:

Yeah she was on borrowed time, but I wasn't expecting her character to be killed off (if at all)until the final season at least.

That was kind of a Glenn moment where they did a fakeout then the real thing happened. Although in this case it wasn't quite as impactful. Or annoying.

Worms burrowing their way through your eye. Ugh. The scary thing about that is it also happens in real life.:wow:

I think it would have been great, but can't see many studios green lighting a big budget horror trilogy. I think that's the reason the show has been changed so much from the books, as they didn't have the budget to do certain things.

They have also then made changes for the sake of it it seems, but there you go. I would still love to get a movie trilogy one day but now the show is done I doubt GDT will pursue it as much.

IIRC [blackout]Sethrakian died[/blackout] in the 2nd book so I'm curious if that will happen at this Sunday's episode. Then again, Nora's death shows us that they don't really stick to the books so who knows...

Woah.....didn't see that coming with Eldridge.

Well, that was a huge change from the books.

In the books Palmer attempts to strong arm the Master into giving him eternal life and the Master rips his head off and tears him in two.

[blackout]Zack[/blackout] is the absolute worst! lol

And that's a wrap. Overall season 3 was great, looking forward to the 4th and final season of The Strain.

**** YOU, Zachhhhh!!!!

You ****ing piece of petulant ****!!!

If they don't kill that dumbass kid, I am going to be pissed.

I still can never get over that the timeframe in the series so far is one month and eleven days for the world to be overrun by Strigoi...

Our disdain for Zach not withstanding, that was a pretty epic and game changing ending to wrap up the 3rd season.
