Yeah, but at least JDM/Negan has charisma and is entertaining in a dark way.

Zack and the actor playing him (fine, blame the writing), are just annoying in every scene, even if he's just doing nothing.

Doesn't help that he has that Donald Trump pout too.

At least in the books the Master sets off the nukes worldwide to clog the atmosphere to block the sun worldwide and to kill the other Masters. That makes sense. That would have been a sensible season finale.

But this...having Zach deliberately set off the nuke because Eph killed Kelly...no...this is the height of stupidity.

The showrunners dialed back the stupidity some this season, and I was enjoying the show more because of that. Now I know why they dialed back the stupidity. The showrunners were saving all that stupid for one massive stupid moment concentrated around Zach.

I've only read a portion of the first book and I knew right away this had to be some made-for-TV nonsense, because there's no way the books would be as highly regarded as they are if they played stupid s*** like that.

Yep. I love how it happens in the book. It was Red Wedding levels for me when I read it. It just showed how thouroughly outclassed the heroes where, this stuff was centuries in planning.

This on the other hand made my jaw drop from stupidity. I'm still laughing about it a day later.

Just watched the last 2 episodes, and overall I enjoyed them, but I totally agree with how it ended compared to the book.

I much preferred [BLACKOUT]Angel during at the hands of the master, as at that point Angel seemed invincible, and the Master literally grabs him and tears him in half within seconds. Then Setrakian goes out like a badass getting a small victory over The Master in the process. But, essentially, the heroes lose big time, the other masters who had been helping them were obliterated , Quinlan had disappeared, thought possibly dead and the world goes into a nuclear winter and the humans lose the advantage of the sun. It was a loss of epic proportions and I remember thinking there and then that our heroes were going to lose. Zach had nothing to do with the nuclear winter either, and here and even at the end of the 3rd book, he remained redeemable.[/BLACKOUT]

There is no chance of that happening in the show now. If they have to make changes due to budget I understand, but too many changes are being made for the sake of it. And none of them have been for the better so far. Again I do like the show, but I hope one day we get a more faithful adaptation of the books.

Finally watched the season 3 finale last night. Zach might be the worst character in TV history. This show reached new levels of bad.


But I can't wait for next season.

Nope, he is actually quite redeemable in the books and doesn't do anything this bad or even close.

I dont like the burnt orange sky and cinematography. In the book the nuclear winter locked them into an almost perpetual night. I imagined it more like the black sky protocol in the real world of the matrix trilogy. Thick dark cloud cover.
