Activision continues to "exploit" its Guitar Hero franchise this year with three new full titles coming this autumn. The newly announced Guitar Hero 5 will offer "the ability to drop in and out of songs and change band members, instruments and difficulty levels on the fly." The press release contains no other details regarding the game, but you can bet it'll be pretty similar to Guitar Hero: World Tour.

I don't mind this, I just hope they decide to allow you to import songs from WT...I'll be upset if they don't allow that.

Since they never allow you to import songs to GHWT, I doubt Guitar Hero 5 will. They will try to force you to "upgrade" to 5.

They will release Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits, and that one seems to be a standalone game and not importable, either. Activision sux.

No idea. But I've heard the track list is supposed to be a lot more current.

Seven (I believe) songs were released, "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash being one of them

They can you can use the same instrument more than once in the game, that's why the screenshot has 3 drummers playing in one song.

Too bad the gameplay isn't at all fun on any instruments in the GH series at this point. Also, the new UBER REALISTIC!!!! style looks just as bad as the last art style, just in a different way. Look at all that shiny plastic hair, ugh.

Gameplay.

I do like this feature that lets you join in a middle of a song whenever you feel like it, though. However, I'd have to see the song list before I decide whether to get it or not, and the inability to import songs from GHWT to GH5 does irk me quite a bit.

When the hell are they going to put straps on those guitars?!?!

So there is going to be 6 Activision Hero games this year alone, Guitar Hero:Metallica, Guitar Hero:Greatest Hits, Guitar Hero 5, Guitar Hero:Van Halan, DJ Hero and Band Hero. My question is what the hell is going to be the differance with Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero??

Band Hero is Activisions answer to Lego Rock Band.

It's kid Guitar Hero.
