Is he getting worse?

Just read "collateral Damage".

Yuck. I thought he was smarter than this.

I also read GL corps # 8.

EEP,... I thought he was stronger than this,....

What's going on,... His abrasive nature has crossed the line into overall offensive.

Didn't Johns say in an interview Gardner was the Dc comics GL "Sh-i-t kicker" or something like that?

He was caught by surprise in GL Corps.

And smart? I've NEVER seen him that way. He's a bit of a moron. He's the bruiser of the Earth GL's.

I wouldn't take Collateral Damage to serious.

How long ago was that? I think I need an update.

Just before the Warrior run,.. and the Brain Damage runs,... he was fairly bright.

I just answered my own question.

It was pretty recent. People were asking if Superboy-Prime would ever get out while Guy was screwing around during his watch, and Johns vehemently denied that would ever happen, and said that Guy is much smarter and more capable than that.

The GL Corps situation was understandable. Guy was using a power unfamiliar to him, and was up against a pretty formidable opponent. The next issue will probably see him return to his green ring and kick its ass.

Except for the fact that he's like...braindead. Unless they're going to take the copout and say he was faking it.

In which case, I'll drop the book. He's not that smart/talented.

Guy has a batchelor's degree in education and psychology, he was a smart guy. It wasn't until he got brain damaged that he took on his more familiar personality

He was brain damaged? I thought he was just an inteligent ******* who played dumb because it amuses him.

In a fight with hector hammond, he was put in a coma and had brain damage and his personality changed to what it is today, when the awoke from the coma

Was it actually said that he had brain damage?

I'm sure it was, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll check and find out

I LIKE the idea of a brash, not so bright GL. It makes him different from the other 3. Hal is the brave, John is the smart, Kyle is the creative and Guy is the arrogant.

it was pretty clear the von daggle isnt dead and he morphed into the khund... so von daggle is going to save guys cookies, guy will get pissed and ring-rape that superdominator... im calling it now

I think the whole brain damage thing with Guy was retconned into his whole Vuldarian physiology f'ing with his mind or whatever.

I don't think Guy should be dumb or something. He's a wild card and butts heads with everyone, but no one should mistake that for incompetence. There's a reason that he's senior Lantern Honor Guard.

Exactly. He was college buddies with John Henry Irons (the superhero known as Steel).

I'm not saying that he's stupid, I'm saying that he's not smart/talented enough to be able to fool the khund into thinking that he suceeded in turning him into a vegetable.

He isn't old enough to be, and I'm pretty sure they were college buddies, not teacher-student.

You're probably right. I just thought I remembered a story where they teamed up and it was said that Guy was John's college sports coach or something. Of course, it's entirely possible that I'm wrong.
