Nice job on the Batman cover.

Thanks Dog Lips. It was really fun to do a Batman piece, I always liked that sketch and just sort of forgot about it... By the way, what part of Texas are you in? I lived there for 7 years...

This is Gabe. He is one of my creations I am working on submitting to some smaller comic companies to try and get some work published even if there is little money in it...

This is another pic of him in an energy flow...

This was a little concept piece for the Robot that Gabe is fighting in the above pic, just to show it in the surroundings. The original was pretty rough, just a quick sketch colored with markers.
For this I just spruced it up with some digital inking and did a little work on the colors to get it where I wanted it. Its still not quite where I would like it but I gave it the 15 minutes of time I had:)

That Batman one feels like a nice stylistic homage to Tim Sale's work.

I like this one alot. The style reminds me of Mike Mignola.
Okay, you have won my friendship. I am a huge, and I mean HUGE fan of Mignola's work. Hellboy is (aside from Watchman and Transmet) what got me into non-superhero comics. Thanks much Leto. I haven't seen your work on here yet but I shall go looking for it now.

Haven't put anything on. Just an observer right now. I've been meaning to make a thread, I have some stuff to scan. I'll try to do so soon.

Edit: Your site has some sick stuff .

Great, can't wait to see it. Glad you liked the site. I am trying to keep it updated regulerly with new art and video content. Its hard with work and all. I am going to start posting the short story comics I am working on soon though.

I am in the airport in Detroit, getting ready to head home... I am EXHAUSTED. I have had more starbucks in the last 24 hours than I care to admit.
Finished the flats for this one, started on the more elaborate colors and will post it later this week...

Ok, finished this up tonight... took me awhile to get the background right. At first I was using a more abstract idea then i went with this "old castle" look and finally got it to add to the picture rather than take away from it, at least in my opinion.
Any thoughts?

This is the first page for one of the short storys I am working on. Not sure of a name for it yet, it's about a man who is caught in the middle of a "Romero-esque" zombie tale. Hes in a different city for a meeting when disaster strikes and he makes a fun for home only to run into more trouble. It's about the strength to do what you have to do...

Here is another sketch of "Mystical" Gabe that I digitally inked and got the b&w version finished up. I am going to NY tomorrow so I hope to work on the coloring on the airplane. Which is always an interesting thing to do. The people around me at first want to know what all the stuff I pull out of my bag is (it's just a wacom tablet, not a bomb people), then they want to talk and ask questions about what I am doing. Which is really annoying.
Anyway, this version is less "McFarleney" than the other one I did above. Anyone prefer one over the other?

Well, I hope you think thats a good thing I couldn't really tell from your comment... I am a huge Mignola fan, particularly his use of black to create subject matter rather than drawing every single line. I think that takes alot of talent and I admire him. My other major influences are Kelley Jones, Joe Q(then I realized I really was just admiring Mignola since he mentored Joe Q), Kubert Bros., Scott McDaniel... and I am sure I have not listed half of those I have learned from.
