I like the Halloween remake, but the more I watch the more I find I actually dislike it. The original Halloween, by far is superior. The remake, as good as it is, doesn't hold a candle to the original.

Exactly. I enjoyed it when I saw it in theaters, mainly because I'm a huge Halloween fan (theShape?), but after watching it again, I find it boring, drawn out, gratuitous, and stupid, frankly.

Indeed it was, Rob Zombie missed the originals main focus and show the fans he didn't have a clear grasp on the material.

Disregarding Halloween fans altogether, it's just a bad film. Very poorly executed story.

It was to many people.....But the first time fans saw it they didnt know what to expect from zombie and new story or the original lines..It was ok in my opinion..

When he wanted to re-make Texas Chainsaw Massacre, they wouldn't let him so he did his own "re-make" with House of 1000 corpses. What I want to know is after seeing that dreck, why give him the keys to a classic movie? They actually saw that and said, "hey this guy's good".

Is the studio that inept that they gave this guy the opportunity to remake the film? IBut I blame the studio not Zombie. You don't blame the artist who paints a bad painting, you blame the gallery for putting it up.

It's such a bad film because it lacks any spirit of the original and brings nothing new to the table.

Bump to da bump!

I just saw this movie, & I have to say that I like it a lot. I am a huge horror fanatic. Most notably an 80's horror fanatic, to which this original started the trend.

I didn't think that I would like this movie because I felt that Zombie was going to explain Myers's motives, & then you would sympathize with him. & he does a little, but at the same time you can't completely sympathize with him because he is killing innocent people. I found my self wanting him to take control of the evil inside, & over come it, but of course I knew he wouldn't.

The one thing I like most about this movie is it is about Michael. It isn't about Laurie. So basically for me I can enjoy both the original, & the remake, because you get the behind the scenes on Michael with the remake, & you get the behind the scenes with Laurie in the original. Now you can watch as these 2 peoples lives collide.

Anywho. I am not going to give this a 10/10 ( rarely ever do that), but I am going to give it an 8/10.

I love how he attempts to create a compelling drama without a single believable human being in the cast. The first half is bad camp, and the second half is just dull, by-the-numbers crap. Just absolute, unfiltered dreck.

Oh, and what in God's name was up with that bagel scene. It was cringe-inducing... But then so was most of the movie...

*1/2

Wow... this got bumped? Remake was Awful, and now they are planning sequels.

This should be renamed the halloween thread so we can talk about the part 2 remake here.

Are they remaking part 2 or just making a sequel to the remake?? Isn't loomis dead in Zombies version?

Making a sequel to the remake. So yeah, Loomis i believe is dead in Zombies version. I was surprised when they killed off Loomis. The girl playing Laurie, Scout Taylor, is cool and I liked her in the role. There's also the 3 disc comin out in Oct. Which has the 2 disc director's cut (awful) with an extra disc. lookin forward to gettin that so then i can have both the theatrical (preferred version) and the director's cut.

eh, im happy with my 2 disc i got now. The only new halloween dvd id buy is if they came out with Halloween666: the orgin of michael myers which is the directors cut.

Wow, Really? I've never heard of a directors cut being worse than the theatrical version.

oh you saw both versions? the Orgin of MM is hard to see. Though you can see it now on youtube.
