This sounds really cool, I will be buying it definitely.
Plus, I will be able to follow the story (disc 4) without having to play the old games again.

Few tidbits about gameplay too...

-----

The "legendary edition" is sort of a "special-special-edition" that consists of a Full-size replica of the Master Chiefs helmet that contains 4 DVDs with material.

1= The Game
2=Various documentaries and audio commentary
3=Spinoffs such as "Red vs Blue" and "Spark of Life"
4= ALL the cutscenes from all three games in Hi-def

New Weapons:
Spiker: the weapon of choice for brutes.
Spartan Laser: An anti-veichle weapon, fires a red laser that pretty much destroys any veichle that is hit.

New Vehicle:
Moongoose: The ATV that was supposed to be in Halo 2. It carries 2 people and it doesn't have any weapons so it's mainly a means of getting from point A to point B as fast as possible.

There are 3 levels which are revealed,
Valhalla = blood gulch, High Ground = Zanzibar, Snowbound = Frost bite.

There is a new controller setup where you click the right bumper to reload the right weapon and the left bumper for the left weapon.
The X-button will have a special use which Bungie will not reveal

The dvd with all the cutscenes sounds cool, but if it only comes in the "Legendary Edition" I will NOT be getting it. Not only do I have no desire to have a master chief helmet, but I'm getting as tired of these "collector's edition" games as I am of comic variants and dvd 'special editions'. There's always a way for them to get more money out of us. Any word on how many hundreds of dollars this 'Legendary Edition' costs? I don't even want to know. This type of ****e is why I stopped rebuying dvd's when they come out with the "new, ultra, mega, super special collector's edition" five times after release.

Dra7en, if you're gonna bash it, leave this thread.

That's what the Sony forum is for.

My guess is that it'll have a price range between a 100 and a 150 bucks.
Totally reasonable

Hell yeah! I'll buy the Legendary Edition!

I agree with you 100% but there are always exceptions to the rule. With games like Prey or Madden or COD, hell, even Oblvion, Special Edition's aren't needed. They are just away to sucker people out of more money. But with games like Halo or Gears of War, the biggest games on the console, SE's are needed. Most of the time, the extra stuff is totally worth the extra money. Like with Gears, you get an awesome tin cover, a making of art book which follows the games beginnings to how it came to be, making of disc with lots of info from developers (something I'm really really interested in), and all the trailers and promos for it. Plus, I heard they're giving away codes for free themes and gamer pics with it now too. For an extra 10 bucks, it's a really good deal.

Depending on the price, I'll get this legendary edition, too. I LOVE Halo. I'm a huge fan, I'veplayed through both games many times and have wasted away countless hours on XBL with Halo 2. I'm interested in all 4 DVD's it comes with and would love to have a Master Chief helmet. If it's within the $100-$150 range, I'll definately pick it up. It'll be well worth the price, for me personally. And that's the great thing about Special Editions. No one is forcing you to buy anything. You can buy the regular game for only $60 and not have to pay for any of the extras. The Special Editions and now Legendary Editions are only for people that really want the extras, thats all.

New Halo 3 pics in that magazine. The scans are hot.

Um... not sure what to make of this.

Awesome vs. Expensive.

You will break. You know that, right :csad:?

Oh yes! The have Forerunner facilities again. I missed those beauties in Halo 2. :(

:D

There better be black armor this time. And I mean black. Not that ****ty steel.

If not black, then at least dark blue :csad:.

Looks like I'll be spending more money on Halo that I thought....

I will admit, Halo 2 is the only SE I've ever felt was worth it, so I'll give Halo 3 a try.

Oh my god Resistance Fall of Man looks so much freakin better :D

That was sarcasm people.

I don't know what I'd actually do if Resistance was better than Halo 3.

^You would bow down before the one you serve!

I actually think that Resistance has better graphics than Halo 3 as of right now honestly. But I know it will change when it gets closer to launch for Halo 3 because they have a ton of time to improve and they have a longer development time than Insomniac has.

Personally from what we have heard of Resistance, and Cliffy B saying it was tight I think it will be a very close battle between Halo 3 and Resistance Fall of Man. I'm not calling it the Halo killer i'm just saying I think now Halo actually has a formidiable adversary.

But really i'm going to contradict myself and say that we haven't seen enough of Halo 3 to really make such a comparison. So my lips will remain sealed until I play both.

However I don't think that trailer at E3 was real, the game doesn't look exactly how it was portrayed to look. I believe this is just me though.

Oh my gosh... Halo 3 and Resistance aren't even in the same realm of quality. :( Please don't speak like that.

First of all, Fran, I'm not a Sony mark. Don't even have a Playstation. Second of all, I wasn't bashing it as much as giving my opinion on the Legendary Edition and Special Editions in general. The day you tell me to leave a thread for speaking my mind and I listen...well, it's not coming soon.

Second of all, as others stated in this thread it is a matter of OPINION. Hell, I bought the Halo 2 Special Edition and love it. Worth every penny. My point was that although many Halo fans may buy and love this edition, I won't. I'm sure it's more than I want to spend. I'll probably get the regular Special Edition. I was railing on the fact that everything these days has several editions of something to steal our money. That's my opinion and a few of the others here seemed to get that.

Aren't there leaked images somewhere?

*looks about*

Well, it's not like comic covers where people can buy every cover of an issue for like $20 total.. People aren't going to buy all 3 versions of the game. They're going to buy the one that they want to the most, they can buy the regular one for $60, a special edition for $70, and this one for a lot more. All 3 contain the game and that's what matters most. People are gonna buy what they want the most. Halo definately is worthy of the extra specials because Xbox arguably might not have made it to this gen without that game.
