Halo movie dead.

God, I hate matchmaking. I hate those 5 seconds of not being able to mute someone right when they enter.

*sighs* I dont know why I even try with you...did you read the script? did you even ever read the Halo books? There's alot more to the story than what was just in the games, and the first draft of the script already had an epic sci-fi space opera...but no, you dont like the story so automatically it wouldnt and couldnt be a great movie, for no reason other than your disdain for it...just get out of these theads if this level of not knowing wht the f**k you're talking about is all you're going to post, jesus...

Like I said, I'm not going to go on a script alone to make me believe its going to be on that kind of level of quality. Its been 20 freaking years since those movies have come out and nothing has done better. And you want me to go on novels and a script to a movie that won't be made to make your case? Whatever man.

Halo isn't StarWars. The movies would have totally different feels.

When the hell did I ever say ANYTHING about Star Wars?

You made absolutely no sense in that post, Patent. Remember the Billy Madison line about the most idiotic statement ever said? Yours challenges it.

When you said "It's been 20 years since those movies" I just figured you were talking about StarWars, even though StarWars sucks...

he was reffering to Alien and Blade Runner...which would also be nothing like the Halo movie, as those were a horror movie and a dystopian thriller that just happened to have sci fi elements in it, respectively...

Halo would not work as either of those films. No wonder this guy can't figure this movie being good.

He wont read the script, because the film is dead, and thinks that the script is the reason? The script was pretty damn good. It even had hot spartan sex

No, christ, I never said that either. I never said Halo was the same or had to be the same as "Aliens" or Blade Runner, just that in the genre that Halo is in, there are literally a handful of movies that really stick out as being genuinely great movies and not just some movie with good action scenes in it. I have to see the movie to believe it is one of those genuinely good movies. Novels of the game aren't going to be enough. Because when you talk about that genre of movies and have to go back a few decades to find the best of that represent it, I'm not going to buy into just a script and be ready to say its the next big thing. Its just not going to be enough for me to believe it belongs up in those ranks no matter how good it sounds.

So its more reasonable to say that it does? Are you kidding me?

No, its more reasonable to read the script and make your opinions of the film from that for right now. You make it seem as if no matter what, this movie would fail and suck only because there have been other films in the genre which are good.

I'm not saying its going to fail. I've said time and time again it would succeed tremendously as a summer action movie. But to say its at the same level of quality that movies like Aliens and Blade Runner are at while having absolutely no idea who is helming the movie, who will star in it, who will write it, or if it will ever be made for that instance, is crazy.

Director- Neil Bloomkamp
Alex Garland wrote the script.

It had the pieces in place.

Had. Had the pieces in place. Now who knows. Right now everything is in limbo.

But earlier we were all talking about what they had in place, and you starting ranting on how it would fail. Pretty sure you are trying to change topics left and right here.

I had just responded to something that Joker posted earlier. Of which was partially agreeing with him on. Its not like I'm on here doing angry rant after rant, but when people start saying that I think this way or that way even though I had never posted anything close to what they, including you, said I did, then yeah I'm going to defend myself. All I was doing is taking a realistic view on the movie. Thats it.

The Halo movie was going to be a great movie. The first draft wasn't Batman Begins, but after the additions and improvements I think the movie would have been better for videogame movies than X-men was for comicbook movies.

Why would they cancel this? The fact that Halo 3 is one of the most popular & best selling game franchises isn't enough? Idiots!

They wanted a generic movie with lame action and poorly-done kung-fu movies.
