Harry Potter Book 7 [SPOILERS-ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!]

Movie's going to be severely disappointing...just like the past 5 films have been. (however Number 3 is decent, rest are crap imo.)

I could picture the Voldemort chase scene perfectly when I was reading the book. Don't know exactly how to describe it though, somewhat like how chaseter described it I guess. That said, I really don't see how they're going to make this movie without cutting quite a bit. Like everyone's said, most of the tent scenes are out.

I pictured Voldy flying almost exactly like Neo in the Matrix Reloaded (but slower) no trail, but with his inky like cloak flapping around him (like Neo's coat). S'gonna look cool, the effects in the last two have really been superb.

Neo jets around like Superman and I don't see Voldemort holding out his hands in front of him. I see Voldemort standing pompous yet gracefully with his wand at the ready. It will have to have some sort of effect to look astonishing whether that be his coat just flapping or him sort of standing on a black cloud disentegrating in his wake as I described earlier.

I imagined a black cloud trailing him as well. Maybe in the movie they can have it take on a shape vaguely reminiscent of batwings or something.

I've composed a list of all the places the trio visit.

4 Privet Drive
Burrow
12 Grimmauld Place
Ministry of Magic
Godric's Hollow
Camp Sites
Forest of Dean
Xenophilius Lovegood's place
Chamber of Secrets
Room of Requirement (Room of Hidden Things)
Malfoy's Manor
Shell Cottage
Gringotts
Hogwarts
Hogsmeade (Hog's Head)
Marvolo's Shack/House (slight glimpse)
The Cave (slight glimpse)
Places in Snape's memory
The Whomping Willow
The Forbidden Forest
The Great Hall
King's Cross
King's Cross

Granted, A LOT is going to be omitted in the film, but still. :o

I can't wait to see the final standoff between Harry and Voldemort. Thats going to be awesome.

I'm just hoping that in the chase sequence (with the 7 Potters), we will actually see Mad-Eye's death.

Just what is "Goat Charming" and why is it so taboo, apparently?

Well, according to Dumbledore in Goblet of Fire, they were "inappropriate charms". Put two and two together.

If I don't see Kreacher whack Dung over the head with a saucepan, there'll be hell to pay! :cmad:

Also I'd like to a see a glimpse - if not all - of Tonks' and Lupin's final duels.

Don't play the "Snape was a victim" card. He chose to be evil to begin with. And he didn't change. He simply switched sides to get revenge because what he wanted was taken from him. And you can say "He was evil because he was abused and brainwashed" but that is a load. Harry had a life just as hard, if not harder than Snape. He was poor, was mentally and physically abused, and yet he overcame. Became a good person despite that. Snape took the easy way. He made his choice and he suffered the consequences of it. I admire his loyalty to Dumbledore, but doing the right thing for the wrong reasons (desire to avenge Lily) is still wrong.

Snape took the easy way once, and then, he took the hardest and the right one.

I'm not playing any card. I'm just saying how Rowling described the character and his story.

Also I'd like to a see a glimpse - if not all - of Tonks' and Lupin's final duels.

Me to, in the book it was 'oh look them two died' I mean they could have least had more then that, so in the film I hope we do see what happened to them, Tonks is a great character! and I like Lupin

So which of these scenes do you think will have to be omitted, due to time restrictions and such?

So which of these scenes do you think will have to be omitted, due to time restrictions and such?

Judging by the other movies, anything not involving action or the characters "sex/relationship" lives will be omitted. King's Cross will be one, maybe two minutes max, Shell Cottage, the same, I wouldn't expect a funeral for Dobby, if Dobby even makes it into the movie. I'd expect the entire first half of the book to be cut down to 45 minutes to an hour max, doubt they'll even include Bill and Fleur's wedding. Most of the time will be devoted to Harry leaving Privet Drive and the Ministry of Magic scene.

4 Privet Drive- Cut out Dudley's semi-redemption and all of that. It probably will just start with the chase.
Burrow- Most will focus on Harry, Ron and Hermione getting ready to leave. Wedding will be an after thought at best.
12 Grimmauld Place- Cut out all the emotional scenes. Lupin subplot probably gone. Lily's letter gone.
Ministry of Magic- This is important. A lot of the lead up will probably be cut and just focus on the action.
Godric's Hollow- I think that everything with the writer will probably be cut out. The graves, I hope will be left in though.
Camp Sites- Majorly cut. It will take a hell of a lot shorter time for Ron to leave. I'm thinking the first or second night tops. And he'll come back a lot sooner.
Forest of Dean- Cut out completely
Xenophilius Lovegood's place- Cut out completely (Probably find a quicker way to figure out the story and get caught)
Chamber of Secrets- Kept in full. We don't have to go down and see it, so I could imagine it being done exactly like the book.
Room of Requirement (Room of Hidden Things)- Kept. This is very important and I see the movie focusing around the Battle of Hogwarts.
Malfoy's Manor- Kept almost fully. This is all key to the movie.
Shell Cottage- Shortened. Cut out Olivander's explination
Gringotts- Shortened. Probably cut out the imperius/polyjuice and the escape
Hogwarts- Kept in full. I see this being the big climax of the movie
Hogsmeade (Hog's Head)- Shortened. Probably will cut out Aberforth
Marvolo's Shack/House (slight glimpse)- Since it's slight, it'll probably be cut or kept full.
The Cave (slight glimpse)- Since it's slight, it'll probably be cut or kept full.
Places in Snape's memory- I want to say it'll be fully kept, but I sadly doubt it will be.
The Whomping Willow- Kept
The Forbidden Forest- Kept
The Great Hall- Kept
King's Cross- Sadly shortened

I can imagine that much of the Dumbledore subplot will be left out.

I can see Bill and Fleur's wedding being eliminated all together.

WB never shows the parties (COS's deathday scene). :csad:

So which of these scenes do you think will have to be omitted, due to time restrictions and such?

I could see Hogsmeade, the King's Cross limbo, Shell Cottage, a good chunk of the Ministry of Magic (I really, really hope they don't cut the toilet transportation devices) and the Chamber of Secrets taken out.

Xenophilius' will probably also be cut, despite the awesome scene where they Disapparate in midair.

The scene is only a retelling of Dumbledore's past and how Harry survived. Dumbledore's portrait could tell him that in his office. The explanation was so vague that I think people who haven't read the book won't understand it either way.

The King's Cross in the epilogue is more important.

Cut out the fat, I say... Get to the main theme of the book and stick to it. The characters will take care of the rest... and kill less characters. That was too depressing... some didn't need to die at all. Although I must say Dobby dying will be good fun to see happen.

I never thought one of the Weasley twins would get iced

Yeah, it just seemed way too random... At least have him die protecting someone, not just practically slip on a banana and die.

You know what'd be cool though? I seriously want the movie to just end differently than the book. The way it's in the book, it's too Lotr-ish.

And give Ginny more to do than sit around. That pissed me off quite frankly. She's not going to be treated like that while her whole family and everyone else goes to fight, too out of character.
