I'm debating a midnight showing. It shouldn't be too packed here in my small town. And I am oh-so-very excited.

My sister is going to see it tonight...and she hates Harry Potter. I probably won't be able to see it this weekend at all. :(

Heading out now, movie starts in a bit, but we're throwing a potter party. I'll give you guys my thoughts on the film when I come back! :D

Do I dare axe which of you is dressing up tonight?

Seeing it at 1am got the 18 and up showing tickets to. If you're thinking "its one am who would let their kid stay up" You don't know parents these days. My worst theater experience ever was in harry potter 2, i hate kids

Oh my... when I work the midnight show tonight, I won't be surprised if we sell out 10 or more auditoriums, and expect the lobby to be full of Potterphiles when I come in at 10 p.m. tonight. I work at a 15 auditorium theater, and we'll have DH1 ready to play in every auditorium if need be. (We sold out 7 theaters when HBP came out last year.)

Impressive. Is that with 35mm interlocked shows? Or do you have extensive digital capability at your complex?

My site only filled two auditoriums, although that was in the face of some catastrophic technical problems and no marketing. I used a single 35mm print and had to decide where to run it shortly before the show, getting the interlock ready to run just a few minutes before show time. It was bit of a scramble, but the show ran fine. :yay:

ive been m.i.a. awhile...anyway heading to a midnight show in seattle in a bit. its been a great and fun, sometimes hostile and deadly wait with you fellow potter fans, but it was (or will hopefully be) worth it. hope you all enjoy it!!

I wish I could go. The last Potter film I saw in theaters was number 4. I'll check this out on the weekend :)

Every auditorium has DLP Digital projectors (and is equipped to show 35mm prints too). All we had to do is 'load' the digital file into the projectors, and then press 'play'. Most of the time, the projectors start by themselves, but sometimes the cues get mixed up and we have to start it by hand.

And we sold out every single auditorium for the Deathly Hallows 1 midnight show. I was shocked, and it was the busiest I've ever seen the theater -- it even surpassed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day in terms of attendance.

Sweet.

I don't have access to full digital yet. The KDM didn't unlock the digital copy until 11:30PM before the midnight screening anyway, so I opted for 35mm (tested the night before) to give breathing room enough to test run the digital copy.

It was a good print. Only one lab join to remove out of eight reels. :yay:

I'll probably go watch it tomorrow morning.

Even though my funds are running low...

you guys need to watch tonights episode of conan...That was some funny stuff with the asian man in the audience dressed as Harry Potter

This was so f***ing awesome
The action was great, the acting good, the cinemotography awesome. Best HP movie ever
8.5/10

Got back about 10 minutes ago, and I'm so giddy and exhilarated and irritated by some things (I definitely have some problems with it - naturally) and depressed that it's so close to being over! Bloody hell, what a movie!

Best "Harry Potter" yet. Or at least it will be once "Part II" comes out and it's a complete film.

Everything was practically verbatim from the first 24 (or so) chapters of the book. It worked perfectly. It made me see that splitting DH in two really does justice to everything JK Rowling did with the seventh novel. So far, so good. I'm sure that David Yates, Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will deliver again with the final film.

The beginning felt a little rushed but I can forgive that since they needed to get to the plot as soon as possible. Besides, they'll probably add some stuff in for the DVD.

I liked Neville's little cameo. There were others who I missed, like McGonagall, but I guess you need to save some characters for "Part II", right?

Hedwig's death was heart-wrenching, but not as much as Dobby's. There was much crying in the theater at that point. They sure did shoehorn him in here, but they made him more lovable than in COS, which made you feel even more miserable about him dying.

The nude makeout session between the fake Harry and Hermione in the locket was a bit extreme. Sure, it wasn't graphic, but it seemed like they were naked for shock value. Not that I'm really complaining, though.

My only complaint is that Pettigrew didn't die when he should have, but I'm sure they're saving his death for the next one. Maybe Voldemort will make an example out of him at the manor.

July needs to get here now.

Question for those of you who've seen it already: Is Fenrir in it?
Yes, for a little bit near the end when they take them to Malfoy Manor. He doesn't have any lines, though.

So guys, coming from someone who has never read the full books but knows how it all ends, (and honestly, who doesn't?), is there enough left for Part 2 to have a 2-and-a-half hour running time? Loved the movie, by the way.
