I've been trying to steer clear of the boards cause i really want to be surprised come June, but I've been peeking trying to find out some tidbit of info, such as what the story will be about, what direction the film is heading in and so forth. Does anyone have any info on the script? Also who is doing the writting this go round?

Don Payne wrote the screenplay. Mark Frost also did a draft before him and i suspect some of his ideas may end up in the movie so he may end up with a story by credit (?).

I've not seen any script reviews or leaks. All the story info we have so far is from setreports and the occasional update from the actors, director and producers.

I haven't "head" anything, nor have I "heard" anything. lol:cwink:

You just had to point that out:o :o

I've revised the title. :whatever:

Anyway MJB, I haven't heard much about the script which really concerns me actually. Then again, we didn't hear anything about the first films' either until we got our hands on it well into post production.

Thanks man!:yay:

*Sighs* You've also just lowered my spirits:csad: If you're concerned then, oh what's the point, I said I wasn't going to get worked uped over Fox again and their messes. What's so heard about hiring the right talent??

I like the fact that we haven't heard anything. Why is that such a bad thing. 99% of the audience out there for this movie will never hear anything about the script. So what?

The less we hear about the script, the more I feel that we have a professional, competent crew working on it.

If we hear too much, it would seem that the people who are working on it don't take their jobs, responsibilities or confidentiality agreements seriously.

Well, I do believe we have a synopsis don't we?

Agreed.

I don't like it when people are able to get scripts seemingly as easy as buying a comic. Last year there was a guy on IMDB shopping the script, and a few here took him up on it. Not cool in my book. I think that does more harm than good if too much is leaked.

Leaks are with studio blessings. They're sent to sites like this to hype the fanbase up for the films. It's too easy for the studios to find out who is leaking info for it to be really rogue info. Like that script review of Spidey 2 on the Star Trek site. Does anyone really think some exec let her sister read the script when they all have to sign confidentiality agreements?

The studios release the info to get us excited (and pissed off) then pull it to keep us more intrigued and wondering whether its real or not.

Yeah, they leak entire scripts with the storyboards intact. Yep. :whatever:

So you're naive enough to think anyone would threaten their career to score points with fanboys? I've got some lake front property available for you. Cheap.

^ There's no way to trace it with things like that but if someone copied an entire script off their original they'd get busted cause they're word coded. Every copy has differences and the actors and those with copies don't know what because they're so subtle.

It's easy enough to know what Exec has a sister. We're talking about films that are worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Is their any limit that the studios would go to to find someone leaking info if it wasn't with their blessings?

Of course I'm not saying EVERY LEAK is studio sanctioned. Like I don't think the FF script being released was from the studio. But leaks like the one i mentioned on Spidey 2, or these new leaks on Spidey 3? No way this stuff is getting out without the studio knowing about it.

Yep, happens all the time. One of my customers manufactures motorcycles, and the buyer told me they've fired 4 people in the last year for divulging confidential information about upcoming models.

It's a stupid thing to do, but if you think there aren't stupid and irresponsible people out there, I think you're the naive one.

Did those people divulging information do it for nothing other than exciting fans on the internet?

I just said that not EVERY leak is studio sanctioned. And yes there are stupid people out there.

And I don't know about your customer's employees- but film production professionals have to spend far too much time developing their skills and then landing paying work to toss it away for nothing.

The benefits of studios releasing the leaks are obvious. Look at all the chatter that begins everytime any news appears, real or fake. These movies take a good while to produce. So they're generating excitement and anticipation for the films well in advance.

The guy I'm speaking of was extremely aware of his job status. He didn't care about being fired, but about finishing up his time on the F4 shoot. It was all very much under the table. Script and storyboards were given to someone in Vancouver, and then that person sent it to only a couple of people beyond that point. It was not a mass gift. It was not like the first France script or Frost script that I saw. No one else that I know of got the actual shooting script from the set with the nightly changes. Not even AICN from what I heard got the full script. This script had the color coding for which changes and which days. The script in the "Making of book" did not have the changes that the shooting script had. I'm not saying thats how it happens all the time, I have no clue how it happens all the time, I don't follow this stuff that closely. Nor do I really care. I just know that in this case, no it was not for hype of any kind. It wasn't even supposed to be talked about, but some around here talked quite a bit. The talk ended up not in positive hype from what I saw, but in negative hype. Without naming names, much crow was eaten from the critique of that script, in my opinion. Warnings were made, but warnings were not heeded. So to speak. :yay: As for me, I'll stay away from that stuff. Studios are getting very cranky with this stuff, and all I want to do is enjoy my roll up to the movie.

I wasn't referring to this type of leak, when scripts are posted. Usually in those cases as with the FF1 script or the Superman /Kryptonian Luthor script, it starts of as someone giving a review of the script for a site like AICN or Joblo, then the script gets passed around. Again,

I'm talking about the mass leaks like the ones we've had this year for Spidey 3, where someone in the know comes online not once, but multiple times with revealing info. It would be pretty easy for the studio to track such a person down and make them suffer the consequences if the leak wasn't sanctioned.

You original statement:

Was wrong and naive. That's all I was saying, and now that you agree, we've got no disagreement.

One other thing about your point- the obvious difference is that the people leaking stuff on these films aren't being fired. So this tells you that they're doing it under orders.

Gotcha, that why I made it clear what type of leak I was aware of. I'm not sure if Fox tracked this particular leak down or not. I will say I have not seen anything from them since then.:yay:
