...plastic surgery?

I've lately become addicted to plastic surgery shows, not sure why...

Ok, I just like to stare enviously at really pretty people.

I'm considering getting some work done (*gasp*), but I'm not exactly rich and kind of worried about possible results, and wondered if any of you have had any plastic surgery.

Also, I heard something about be able to 'finance' surgery.

Anyone have any experiences to share or helpful info?

You already know every guy on here that faints in your presence will be like, "you're beautiful as you are...pics plz."

If you google 'plastic surgery' you can go to a lot of different webistes of doctors offices that do them, that would give you a good cross section of how things can vary from one place to another.

I've never had any done myself, but it's a thought I've toyed around with for a long time. I'm not opposed to it on any basis of 'only shallow people do it' because its just another body mod to me- tattoos piercings scarification and the like are all in the same boat, imo.

I'm sure most places have a finance program, because not a lot of people are able to drop several thousand at a time, like with buying a car. I bet you could call a place near you and ask them about it, and they'd be totall understanding that you were just thinking about it and wanted info. I think offices have come a long way in recent years in making these kinds of procedures available to lots of people and not just the elite.

I couldn't pass the exam to enter the Plastic Surgery League this year :( Maybe next year. I may become a plastic surgeon...

Both :(.

I kind of want breat implants... and I want a nose job...

Never had anything done, but Nip/Tuck is like my favorite show. :o

I don't see any problem with it as long as you feel better about yourself in the long run. I can't imagine how hard it must be for a woman in today's society.

I've got an underbite caused by a misaligned jaw that doctors/dentists say would require having it broken and re-set to avoid arthritis in later age, but I don't know if that qualifies as plastic surgery.

Outside of that, I've been considering having some work done to my right ear as it doesn't really have any shape to it (like, no creases, etc.) and I'd like to be a little more symmetrical. I also think my eyes droop a little on the side, but it's more something that I notice rather than other people. Usually if I point it out, friends go, "yeah, I never noticed that before, but I do now." I should probably just shut my mouth!

My cousin's wife just got a boob job, and she's like a different person (not just physically). And, my wife's wants one as well, when we're done having kids. Research is the key, and most places have a payment plan. Some you can pay ahead of time, it's like layaway for your new boobs or whatever.

thats some sad ****. all of you should just relax and accept old age/middle age. accept that you will be going bald, accept the fat that will grow if you don't run it off, accept the fact that your genes did not give you big boobs.

and if you think people who get plastic surgery are 'pretty' you are already in a world of smoke and mirrors so enjoy.

Nose jobs, scary! Surgeries related to the face are a little too drastic for me. Unless you've got some deformity or something :o

I'm 18. And I'm not talking Ashley Simpson fake-looking surgery. I've watched shows where the results are amazing, and don't look fake at all.

All girl's noses are too big and their breasts are all too small so we gotta carve that **** UP!

It's not about accepting or not accepting aging. My wife is considering a breast reduction once we're done having children. She's pretty well endowed in that area and it has always caused her back pain. Should she just accept a life time of back pain? What about burn victims? Should they just accept that their face is burnt up and skip the skin grafts and attempts to improve their looks?

What's the issue with people doing something that's going to improve their self-confidence if it's been proven to be safe? Or are you a Seventh Day Adventist who feels no woman should wear makeup, etc.?

My gf's sister got a boob job. I'm sure she'd show me or let me feel, if I ask.

first off, before i say anything, i'm sure you are beautiful just the way you are ;) . but if you are still considering it. by all means, it's ur decisions. here is my two cents.

i know some people who have had work done, including some relatives of mine. after kids some of them get pretty...big...in..the butt:dry:...so some get lipo.(especially since my cousin is a surgeon) i mean they aren't fat but their butts just get like....whoa. a cousin of mine had rhinoplasty done. and another one of my cousin's was considering getting her breasts reduced because they are e's. and she's not fat either.

i'm addicted to a lot of plastic surgery shows too. i told my parents if i wanted to be any kind of doctor it would probably be a plastic surgeon, i've learned so much i can name so many surgeries off the top of my head.

if you are considering surgery at all. number 1, research research research. like someone said, google it. talk to some people who have had it done. if you like their work, talk to their doctor. never only interview one plastic surgeon, that's what tara reid did with her first surgery...and look at what happened to her.

now with the breast implants....be very descriptive with your doctor. you want them to look natural right? i would recommend silicone implants if they offer them. preferable mushroom silicone, the softest, most natural feeling and looking implant.

with the rhinoplasty, again, be very descriptive with him. tell him exactly what you want.

but like you said, you kind of want to do these things. make sure you are 100% into this before doing anything drastic.

Or you could accept the fact that it's their right to with their body as they see fit. And, not everything is done solely for aesthetics.

People who've had too much plastic surgery come off as creepy and inhuman to me. I think we should all embrace our flaws, because they make us who we are.

it's nice to think that way

and yes there is such thing as too much plastic surgery! eeehhh

but if you've seen some of the people on extreme makeover...they don't want to look like a celeb or someone amazingly beautiful...they just want to be able to walk down the street without being stared at with disgusted faces, pointed at, and having kids crying when they see them.:csad:

Well that's kind of an extreme case. If they find it impossible to go through life without feeling "normal" then I guess plastic surgery might help, but I think that it all comes down to self-esteem issues and how you see yourself. I also think that the way society has put a face on what is beautiful and set this unachievable standard on beauty, it just doesn't help too much.
