...it always seems like just from the trailers that Raimi and Sony spoil many of their money shots. I'm thinking about SM1 and SM2 and how many of the good "moments" -- especially in CGI -- were shown or at least glimpsed in the trailer, with not much being left to the imagination. The arrangement was all that's left over.

So far, for SM3, we've seen a glimpse for every single fight - -we've seen an ENTIRE FIGHT. I don't know, I just wonder if they care anymore if we are surprised or thrilled when we sit down or if they just want us to think "there must be more..."

I remember being a tad disappointed with SM2 b/c the train sequence and bank robbery scenes were really already shown in the trailer.

^They do tend to show a little more than most but seeing it all flow together is great.

You are very wrong because what they show in the trailer is the same as the movie.

This trailer is in limited distribution. YouTube hasn't had enough viewers to constitute a major part of the populous having seen it, and Comcast has exclusivity. While I agree with you in that SM2 practically showed all of the final cuts for the film with the highest spoiler value, I think the fact that this film is a lot more complex than SM2 will keep many elements still in the dark. If you really want to point the finger at a spoiler, though, it's the novelization. It's looking out to be highly film-accurate.

But, in the end, we bring it upon ourselves. You can't have been watching the final trailer and not expected to see a glimpse of Venom, but you do anyways because it's the last trailer. Simple as that, really.

Watching some of the movie beforehand isn't going to ruin the flick for you, so stop whining.

It's not like the scene is any different when put with the rest of the movie.

Besides, barely ANY of the subway fight is shown, there's only been one scene shown from the Osbourne Mansion fight, and the construction yard battle has been kept under HEAVY wraps.

Contrary to what people think, there's a lot we haven't seen.

Well, we watch the trailers for glimpses of things, as Chibi said, but not to see death scenes (Harry's death), aftermaths of interesting scenes we were speculating about from previous trailers (Harry's face), and whole scenes we were anticipating for the movie (belltower scene).

I remember for Spider-Man 2, they showed Mary Jane looking at Spider-Man without his mask on in a music video and some commercials - that would have been a nice surprise to see in theatres.

lol. I think they're keeping it secret pretty well. The final battle is big, not much of that's been shown.

And Venom? Wow, they've done a good job at keeping him secret.

Even though it's hard not to see pictures of him and stuff, I like waiting.:D

No one spoils the movie for anyone except one's self.

If someone doesn't have the will-power to not watch EVERYTHING
(I don't) then that's their own fault. For people whinning about knowing too much, then why are they here? I mean for the basic average movie goer (there are millions) who doesn't sit on a message board soaking up everything that comes out aren't going to know all that we know. They are gonna be surprised when Peter pushes Mary Jane or about Harry's actions in the film.

Too me knowing what's going to happen doesn't really ruin the film for me. I may know some of the big things that will happen, but there are sooo many more parts in between that mesh everything else together, those small things are what matter, because they are what tells the story. When I go into that theatre that fateful friday night, I know my mouth is going to drop open and stay there through the entire movie.

/rant. :p

I think it's fine. Cept maybe the fight... but Superman Returns was spoiling, X-Men: TLS was VERY revealing.

I like the way Raimi "spoils" the movie.... for me it's ok to have an idea of the greatest scenes of the movie, I did not get disappointed in the last two movies..

Well, I will say that I think they've gone too far by releasing a Peter/Harry fight (and showing the end).

^ agreed on that one!

and if you think this is bad guys, then wait for the coming month!... there will be at least 10 TV-SPOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you never quite know what they might show!

I remember they ran a spot for the 2nd movie showing Harry's reaction to unmasking Peter...2 days before the freakin' movie opened. I was so pissed. But yeah, I agree. They show too damn much.

Can anyone decipher this response? LoL Let me get this straight, what is in the trailer is in the movie, is that what you were saying? I didn't know that. I mean, we've seen the symbiote in the trailer, that means......he must be in the movie!!!!!!!!!! OMG! The symbiote's in the movie! I always thought the trailer shows us stuff that ISN'T in the movie!!!!! SICK! :oldrazz: Don't snap at me dude, I just found your response very funny thats all.

they haven't spoiled these film's to me. I mean they keep alot of the scene's secret and in fact no matter how much they show, it will always be an awesome experiance to see on film. the recent trailer wasn't that spoilerish and I really loved the final trailer alot. I can see if Sony released the whole battle royal scene online befor the film is released but when it comes to trailer's and tv-spots, picture's, book and all that stuff, it is to make us want more. I doubt Sam is going to reveal any other scene of Venom until the film's released. quite frankly we have only seen 10 minutes of the film when the film is over 2 hours, so we haven't seen too much and I gaurantee all the scenes they showed are not the full scenes. trust me guys, May 4th will be awesome.

Even if they do, watching the films in a theatre, with the speakers cranked up, being sucked in by the story, is a completely different experience. And you can ALWAYS expect some shots that we never saw in the trailers or clips. Seeing how those shots we did see pan out and how they come together is always a good feeling :]

B:tching because you idiots don't have any will-power to stay away from the trailers/clips/novel/magazines and other spoilerish materials, so like freakin' punks you blame Sony for what you have done. Did they have a gun to your head making you watch it, no. Blame yourselves!

haha not only that, but they analyze it frame by frame O_O

Absolutely- I agree 100%. I'm very upset that we saw the Peter/Harry fight, and really dissapointed that they had shown so much in the last trailer (Harry scarred, his fate, MJs fate, Brock changing, etc.) My girlfriend was really looking forward to the flick until she saw the last trailer... she's pissed because she didn't know who topher was and it spoiled everything with that. Spidey 2, X3, they all did it too.. definitely ruins the film the first time you see it.

Anyway, I'm still going to see the film when it comes out and am still excited, but I feel like I know too much already. Although, it's a success for SONY, it'll fill seats (I feel like they're taking marketing lessons from FOX..)
