Has the Apatow crew worn out its welcome?

Honestly, ever other comedy that comes out has a mixture of, "from the guys who brought you talledaga nights/superbad/40 Year Old Virgin/Knocked Up" as part of its slogan. Granted, they make some somewhat funny flicks..I'm not rolling in the aisles, but they can be clever, but this whole thing seems like it's gonna burn itself out pretty soon.

How dare you, Terry? How DARE you! Apatow Crew kicks ass. They are a million times better than the Frat Pack. If the Frat Pack has managed to last as long as it has then the Apatow Crew definitely has a chance.

I don't know, Ben Stillers crew has been rolling around since the mid nineties, and Wes Anderson's group still is promoted as such. I think it will just depend on a) the quality of projects they continue to do b) if any of them decide to move on to more serious or different careers. For instance Rogen may end up branching out if the Green Horent is anyway sucessful (chances are it won't be but it could happen).

I do like Apatow's work, but I do have to admit it can be repetitive. But I guess we'll see in the future.

I'm surprised he didn't have anything to do with Semi-Pro. It just seems like all he does is maybe exec. produce a flick or come in as a third writer and suddenly, it's his baby.

1st one, looks alright.

3rd one, pretty funny, sort of a Harold and Kumar vibe, but without the race jokes, which are what made H+K so funny.

2nd one looks terrible.

Will Ferrell, on the other hand, has ("Semi-Pro" did lackluster box office numbers). However, "Step Brothers" looks funny.

I do agree that Ferrell is terribly overexposed right now. So far he's only been funny when MaKay and Apatow are involved.

Plus, its an action movie. I think Pineapple Express has potential to be their biggest hit. It'll bring in the action AND comedy fans.

Not even Jennifer Beals wearing nothing but a smile could convince me to go to the theater and drop money on a NASCAR movie starring Will Farrell.

So yeah, like Terry said, they're okay. These guys either need to branch out or pack it in, because I'm getting bored.

if you're going to complain about something, at least complain about something you know about.

superbad and talladega nights are 2 of the best movies out of the apatow camp.

and how can people complain about apatow, anyway? he's making some of the best, most memorable, most quotable comedies we've seen in years, and he hasn't even come close to making a bad one yet... i say let him make as many as he wants. when he starts making crap then we can be upset about it.

"Pineapple Express" looks hilarious. "Semi-Pro" was kinda lame, but entertaining.

Somebody mentioned earlier that they didnt see "Superbad" because it "looked ******ed"?? Its my favorite comedy from the Apatow crew.

When these films start getting "Date/Epic/Meet the Spartans" dumb, THEN we can start a conversation about this subject. Just because they are making a lot of money and making a lot more comedies doesnt mean they "wore out its welcome".

The problem with Semi-Pro is it's the third movie in as many years of Will Ferrel doing a sports comedy, he's hit that well one time too many.

"Semi-Pro" is Will Ferrell's first sports comedy. Come on, let's face it...figure skating isn't a sport, and neither is NASCAR (or as I call it, driving around in circles for five hours to entertain the simple-minded).

Figure skating and NASCAR are sports, and Ferrell did Kicking & Screaming a couple years back so he's done 4 sports movies.
