When the X-Men and Fantastic Four finally make their MCU debut we can already say that the MCU has officially Peaked.
Exactly! I don't know why they went the comedy route with a lot of their movies. Thor could have been a mix of Superman and Lord of the Rings, Antman.............IDK......the hero/loser thing gets old but yeah they could have mixed it up a lot more different instead of mostly comedies. As a casual MCU fan, I'll say openly that I've stopped watching and the reason is that I'm sick of the same, tired formula. Not only is there too much content, but its all so similar it feels like slop.
F4? Maybe but man i get the feeling the X-men are done before they even get started! When the X-Men and Fantastic Four finally make their MCU debut we can already say that the MCU has officially Peaked.
With Marvel, he said, "there are 7,000 characters, there are a lot more stories to tell. What we have to look at at Marvel is not necessarily the volume of Marvel stories we're telling, but how many times we go back to the well on certain characters. Sequels typically work well for us. Do you need a third and a fourth, for instance, or is it time to turn to other characters?"
Iger didn't get specific, but his comments came less than three weeks after the release of Marvel Cinematic Universe entry Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third Ant-Man film. It has grossed more than $600 million globally, but drew tepid response from critics and posted a 69% second-weekend drop in the U.S., the steepest by any MCU title to date.
"There's nothing in any way inherently off in terms of the Marvel brand," Iger stressed. "I think we just have to look at what characters and stories we're mining. If you look at the trajectory of Marvel in the next five years, there will be a lot of newness. We're going to turn back to the Avengers franchise with a whole new set of Avengers, for example."
Especially Gambit! We want the goddamn X-Men.![]()
Well I hope this guarantees that there won't be a Thor 5 and Ant-Man 4 then.
Especially Gambit!![]()
I concur! Not really sure why folks would even clammor for a 5th Thor movie. Retire the character already.Well I hope this guarantees that there won't be a Thor 5 and Ant-Man 4 then.
A 4th movie and a 5th movie won't be an issue for me, if the MCU only revolves around 1 to 6 ips. We are going to wait at least 4 years for another Shang-Chi and Eternals and thats too much, especially if I'm someone who got really invested in the characters of those films.I concur! Not really sure why folks would even clammor for a 5th Thor movie. Retire the character already.
What gave it away?I'm sensing a tiny bit of Gambit affection on your end, Squeeks![]()
Except the masses don't appear to be that pleased anymore.
Marvel needs to make something like Joker. But they are too scared to step outside of their creative box because they are so worried about pleasing the masses, especially kids. That's the reason why I'm not excited about Blade or the new Daredevil. It will be watered down with a touch of MCU flavor. Even a project like Moonknight was watered down. Feige made such a big deal about the show being dark when he was promoting it. It was good to me but there is always that feeling that the MCU still holds back instead of taking full blown risk. I want to see something different.
They def need to experiment with the formula and task a risk or three to inject some new blood creatively.Marvel needs to make something like Joker. This is not even true.Except the masses don't appear to be that pleased anymore.
The only Avengers or Marvel movie that could outgross Endgame is something that has a roster as big as Endgame but with X-Men.Endgame is a peak that only Secret Wars could have a small chance of challenging out of upcoming films. Nothing else even has a shot at all. After that probably have to wait till the final event film of Phase 9 for the next opportunity!
I agree with your first point quite a bit. Everybody wants a chance to see their favorite especially if they interact for the first time with the others. I know I would. The only Avengers or Marvel movie that could outgross Endgame is something that has a roster as big as Endgame but with X-Men.
Shang-Chi, Thunderbolts, Fantastic 4 and Blade won't fill the void of the original Captain America, Iron Man and Black Widow in an Avengers movie. Thats fine, as long as the Avengers movies keep making $ and scoring great reviews from critics. However if The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars both disappoint, thats going to affect future Marvel movies including a movie that has both the Avengers and X-Men. Anyway, Quantumania is X3, Sm3, Tasm2, Apocalypse levels of bad, that Mcu should redeem themselves asap especially from the naysayers and those who are already losing interest.
