Hypnosis is for suckers, right? Or is it? Suggestibility. Persuasion. Mesmerism.

Ever been hypnotized by a professional hypnotist or want to?

Is it a control thing?

Or are you getting vvveerryy sleeeeepy while reading this?

While I was a student at Penn State, I saw a hypnotist perform at an auditorium that had my roommate do embarrassing things on stage with a few others and each time he blew into a harmonica, for some reason, I would nap off for a few seconds saying "damn" afterwards each time.

I've been hypnotized by cleavage, but nothing else

I've never been hypnotized. I think most stage hypnosis things is fake as hell but the professional psychotherapy related hypnosis might be real.

Hypnosis is real, but how it effects you depends on how much you actually "want" to be hypnotized and if your degree of susceptibility.

For example, hypnosis cannot just magically force somebody do something. It's not possible. Instead, the people who make a fool out of themselves are in a relaxed state of mind and essentially "let" themselves do specified commands (i.e. "I don't want this guy to look dumb as hell, so I will pretend that I have no control and will do XYZ and have a little fun while I'm at it."). Or you could get the biggest skeptic in the world in front of the most professional hypnotist and the the skeptic will just think the hypnotist is a damn fool."

Care to explain how many "skeptics" are hypnotized on stage or are they just working with the hynotist.

"No! Don't laugh? That's not funny, that's just saying what happens when you go skiing!"

Yes, it's called being in a relationship with a woman.

*rimshot*

Here's another one...how do you get to Carnegie Hall?

....practice!

I stole that one from Milton Berle when we were out one night doing blow off a Jersey prostitute's stomach.

I once had some psychiatric hypnotherapy. Didn't work in any way whatsoever.
I think I broke the hypnotist's spirit.

No, but I have been hypnotized. Also, yes, but I've never been hypnotized.

First time I played Guitar Hero on it's highest setting. I was trying to play Dragon Force and next thing I knew I woke up two days later having sex with a chicken in some strange carnival act in Arkansas.

i think i have been but i'm not sure if i have. memory is maleable by hyponotism.

Yes, because I allowed myself to be hypnotize, at first it was creepy because of the background music, but after that, I simply visualized the things that my psychiatrist wants me to think and after the session I felt more relax and rejuvinated.

self hypnosis mp3 audio cd's do they really work???

No, but I'd like to be. I don't think I can be hypnotized and I'd like to be proven wrong.

When I was in college they had a hypnotist come and I got hypnotized. It's definitely something you need to allow to happen. I just felt really relaxed and acted on whatever he suggested which was just the normal stage show stuff acting like a fool, but not caring. It was an interesting experience, I kind of wonder whether it would work to change habits though, like would the suggestion stick with you.

Some people have tried it to give up smoking.

Yes I have in Pysch class. The girls were more susceptible imo as they did more stuff than I did but it was cool.

The funniest thing was that the guy doing it kept mentioning a mosquito in the room. At the end, he said the mosquito is now on your left leg and all the girls in the room brushed their leg. I didn't swipe and neither did my friend:(
