Oscar winner Martin Scorsese has teamed with his The Departed star Mark Wahlberg for a drama series project for HBO about the development of Atlantic City.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project will be developed in conjunction with the book, "Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City" by Nelson Johnson, which has been optioned by HBO.
Scorsese will executive produce the project with Wahlberg and Leverage Management's Stephen Levinson.
"Boardwalk" chronicles Atlantic City "from its birth as a quiet seaside health resort, through the notorious backroom politics and power struggles, to the city's rebirth as an entertainment and gambling mecca where anything goes."
Just watched the first season, it was very good but i didn't really understand who was the guy killed in the final montage and why he was killed, was he one of the brothers?
Was watching some old coments, the show is very good but i have to disagree with this, fortunatelly GoT is no longer looked down for being fantasy, with most episodic shows being the ones in a lower level.
I wish the good Doctor could stay around for a bit longer as I'm loving his character.
Someone refresh my memory, had Chalky and Richard met before? Their scene together gave the impression they had been through some business before, but I'm struggling to recall. Had they met previously, or was Chalky just aware of who Richard is and what he can do?
And, the Capone stuff once again is the cherry on top. I hope we get some retaliation. That wasn't Torio's doing was it?
It was definitely Torio's doing. The way Van Alden looked at Capone after he said "Good thing Johnny left when he did." and the way Johnny left, everything pointed to Torio's hand.
And here I thought it was retaliation from O'Banion's crew. Cool twist of it's Torrio though. Al's itching to take center stage and Torrio knows sooner or later Capone isn't gonna be content playing his understudy.
They way I see it, Torrio didn't do it. Nothing we've seen in his character suggests he'd sign off on that kind of attack with all the collateral damage we got. I bet it was payback for O'Banion.
The seed has been planted that Torrio may have done it and that is bad enough. It also mirrors Nucky and Chalky. Because Chalky might now think that Nucky tried to have him whacked, even though he didn't.
I've enjoyed this season far more than I did last. I was so fed up of Rosetti.
