Drama HBO's True Detective - Part 3

She says "different characters" and "different story," naturally, but I didn't hear "better writing" in there.

Hope we don't have to wait a bunch of years for it to come out. :(

Eww.

I mean...Foster wasn't terrible. She wasn't great. She might've been the best out of a terrible crop of performances, but I also wonder how in the world she beat out Juno Temple and Naomi Watts.

With Texas' current attitude towards anything remotely "not right wing enough" I think avoiding Texas is a good idea. The politicians running the state aren't the friendliest bunch.

“It’s set in New York, in Jamaica Bay,” Orsi said. “Issa has a lot to say, not unlike she did with Night Country. It’s a different milieu but just as powerful.”

Filming on the new season is slated to begin in the coming months, with casting in preliminary stages.

“I’m really excited about it. We have a small writers room going with Issa; she’s excited,” Orsi said. “We just gave notes on the first two episodes, the entire season. Honestly, I can’t wait for this to go. It’s all about casting and getting this ready.”

The new season is rumored to have three leads, two male and one female. It will launch in 2027, Orsi said.

With how Night Country ended, my expectations are low, and I'd like to be proven wrong. Maybe a trailer will raise my interest, but right now, I'm not overjoyed to see Lopez showrunning another season.

Not me. I'd be happy to watch as many seasons as they want to make. :)

Saying the first season of True Detective was the best one?

It absolutely was the best season. By far. :D

He's 100 percent right, and I say that even though I think Season 3 is pretty good, and I think Season 2's lead performances are very good...and the less said about Night Country, the better.

As a whole, Season 1 stands among some of the best first seasons of a series.

It’s a very “water is wet” observation on his part.

If he wants to be a little more bold, he can say it’s the best piece of his career renaissance, although Interstellar is some stiff competition.

Ironically in comparison to True Detective and Interstellar, it seems like nobody really talks about Dallas Buyers Club, which actually got him the Oscar at the peak of the McConaissance.

I wonder if everyone almost immediately souring on Leto hurt that movie’s long-term reception.

I don't know why, since both he and Leto gave great performances in that, I feel. There's a reason they both got Oscars.

I just think it comes down to not as many people seeing it as they did True Detective and Interstellar. Case in point, I still haven't seen Dallas Buyers Club.
