HBO's Boardwalk Empire

I was beyond hooked on episode 1 of season 1 for Breaking Bad. Only a few shows that can do that for me (Boardwalk Empire is one of them).

This was me. It was just too cleverly written and unlike anything else I had watched before.

Hmmm, interesting episode. It looks like Nucky is backed into a corner. His only hope is that Rosetti moves on Rothstein first which will make him realise that Nucky's not the only target, which will in turn make the other bosses so uneasy about their own status that they'll agree to go to war against Masseria and Rosetti.

I'm almost sure now too that the Richard/Julia story will tie into the main storyline. After Tommy said he wanted to leave, I have a feeling that Richard will try and do a runner with him and Julia. Gillian will get wind of this and ask Rosetti to go after them, which will in turn mean a casualty (probably Julia). Thus, in Nucky's most dire hour of need (especially if Owen deserts him by running off with Margaret), an expert marksman will offer his services to him. :cwink:

Yea I couldn't believe how everyone turned their backs on Nucky like that. I must say though, after seeing Men in Black 3 and realizing Griffin is played by the same dude as Rothstein I get beyond excited every time he is on screen. Best actor on the show imo

I am not so certain that Margret and Owen are going to make it, I have a feeling Owen isn't going to make it to the end of the season which makes me sad. :( It's just a feeling.

Richard could put Rosetti down real quick so i wont be surprised if it happens.

That would be a sight to see. :D

I think everyone wishes richard could just grab tommy already and run away with that new girl of his.

I don't think gillian can literally get any lower as a character.

Yeah, she is not high on my list of faves. That kid deserves better. :(

It really did look like that kid saw those two naked.

How did they do that scene? CGI?

The thing I really liked about this episode was seeing the effect the explosion had on Nucky. It's so refreshing to see a fictional character suffer after effects when usually they just walk it off, if not walk casually away from it.

Sad there was no Van Alden, although I didn't really notice until the credits rolled.

Yeah, Buscemi played that very well, the dizziness and bad memory. He's a great actor and perfect in the role of Nucky. :)

Yeah I liked that Nucky had after effects from the explosion too, though I do hope he's back to normal in the next episode, it was a very mentally exhausting performance if that makes sense.

Speaking of characters that are missing, I reckon Dunn Purnsley is not one bit impressed about Dunn Purnsley getting no screen time. :o

With only 3 episodes left Im kinda depressed because this season has just flown by and yet theres still alot of loose ends.

I'm really keen to see how Owen and Margarete's little escape plan plays out.

Just as long as it doesn't end with both of them dead. :(

I dunno part of me believes nucky still wants to wack her for what she did last season giving away the road deed. It would be interesting if he just shrugs his shoulders and tells um both goodluck, I mean its fairly evident nucky never really wanted to get married.

I think he wanted to, it's just that her giving away the land like that was a betrayal he couldn't forgive and it soured everything. :(

It is remarkable how .. focused the show seems this season. The first two seasons had a decent balance of the characters, this season so many of the characters have had a total screentime of 15 minutes or so.

I have to wonder if something like that might not happen either. One of my favorite things about Nucky has been how he can separate business and personal. But now that he has become a full gangster I see his emotions getting more out of control.

So, I think allowing Margaret to run off with Owen would make him look weak and he can't allow that. Whereas in season 1, he probably would've just shrugged it off and kept making money.

It's funny but the thought crossed my mind that Richard and the new girl are going to wind up Tommy's parents. I can't see Gillian surviving the season. She's crossed too many lines.

I finally caught up with the last 6 episodes, my god right when I became extremely interested in Billie Kent they took her away from me! :csad:

I hope the actress that plays her gets more roles, she's stunning as hell! :hrt:

Also the Easter episode was probably the most memorable episode this season just because it stayed away from the norm and there was a lot of touching moments between everyone...oh and Gillian is twisted as hell. :o
