HBO's Girls

So, this week's episode was interesting. Charlie actually came back! Apparently the bad blood between him and Lena Dunham has dissipated enough that she was able to get him to come back for one episode. It was overall really fascinating, mainly due to Christopher Abbot's acting. Charlie almost seems like a completely different person now, and yet, he's still the same guy. You have to give credit to the actor for being able to pull that off. Most of the time, we get to see characters change gradually over the course of a show so that when they do something the "old" version of them would never do, it doesn't seem jarring because we've watched that evolution. It's a lot more challenging to catch up with a character years later, who has changed dramatically, and it doesn't just feel like a new character altogether. So major props to the Girls crew for pulling this off.

Series finale next week. Retrospective special tomorrow.

Anybody watch? Overall I feel satisfied.

I caught the end of it and I still can't wrap my head around Hannah being a mother. I feel sorry for that child.

It is odd but that's life.

I'm really annoyed with how Zosia and Lena sort of threw Driver under the bus in that THR reporter review. I agreed what they were saying about being typecast, but they made it sound like Driver was just handed Star Wars why they're off fighting for roles. They're products of nepotism and I never got the feeling that it was easy for Driver to get any role consider how often publications point out how he's not "conventionally handsome."
