Room 104 presents 12 unique stories that all take place in the same hotel room. Each episode boasts a different director, and will span different eras and genres. The eclectic cast includes James Van Der Beek (recently on CSI:Cyber, but still best known for Dawsons Creek), Amy Landecker (Transparent), Orlando Jones (Sleepy Hollow) and Karan Soni (Dopinder in Deadpool).
The show is being put together by the team of Mark and Jay Duplass, who currently executive produce HBOs adult animated comedy series Animals, which returns for a third season next year. The duo also created the pay cable networks critically acclaimed but recently cancelled comedy series Togetherness. The Duplass Brothers said their inspiration for Room 104 came from wanting to explore that middle ground between the two extremes usually portrayed on screen: Weve all seen stories set in seedy motels and high-class international resorts, but for years weve been fascinated by the funny, weird, sad, scary, absurd things going down in that corporate chain hotel near the airport.
