Batman Begins HD-DVD to include Nolan and Bale commentary.

Somebody better ****ing rip the audio from it.

I'd buy another copy just to hear the commentary on it by Christian and Christopher. I'd enjoy some more features like deleted scenes or more documentaries, but I've been looking forward to the commentary.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!:cmad:

Retro smash puny double dippers.:hulk: :(

He guys its not an audio commentary after all.Check this out..

"The IME for Batman Begins gives viewers a window into director Christopher Nolan's personal journey bringing a new look and new direction to Batman, illustrated with comics, cast comments and behind the scenes footage that gives each scene new meaning. The IME for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory offers rare glimpses into director Tim Burton's creative process, scene by scene, that is at once insightful and turned on its head with comic Oompa Loompa interjections, unexpected chocolate fun facts and pop-ups."

In the animation section there's great news about DC Universe direct to dvd animation! Looks like we'll get New Frontier and Superman vs. Doomsday in 2007!!!

It's not a commentary is an extra feature where Nolan talks about the movie. He's not blabing straight out for 1,5 hours...

The HD disc is going to be amazing. Watch the movie the first time with the lossless TrueHD track, and then the second with the IME on. HD-DVD FTW!

smh....

So I guess Nolan does to commentaries after all....
Well, he did for Momento and Insomnia as well

god dammit warner bros! Now im going to be forced into buying hd-dvd player and crap. CURSE THEM! THEY TRICKED US! The 2 disc dvd was limited edition because they were gonna use most of the 2nd disc for hd-dvd.

I dont hate warner bros but this was a stupid scam to get money and make people buy hd-dvd players over blue ray. This is total bullcrap, but since we are all batman obsessed people, they are forcing us into this.

I think I'll pass on this for now. I got no plans of getting an HD-DVD player anytime soon so I'll wait and see if WB puts it on Blu-ray eventually. I do remember that the studio did reach a deal with both camps.

I was hoping they put it out for Blu-Ray instead of HD-DVD. I'll probably just buy the disk first and buy the hardware later, specially with the prices so high at around $1000 for Sony, or $700 for Samsung Blu-Ray players (I'm hoping the $600 PS3 will be a hit enough to bring the prices down, but I'm not holding my breathe) and 2nd Gen 1080p $1000 Toshiba HD-DVD (They also have a $500 model, but it's not 1080p). It'll be wise to wait till there's a clear winner and for the 4th or 5th generation player to be out at a lower price. The forecast? Whatever the pr0n industry follows, everyone else will.

Well....I think WB atleast didn't lie to us and call the DVD BATMAN BEGINS SPECIAL EDITION, but the DELUXE EDITION.

I think everyone expected a SE sometime.

do you need a hd tv to watch a hd dvd? I mean if I buy a hd dvd player and no hd tv will it be ok?

Uh, you know that you don't HAVE to purchase a HD player or a Blue ray don't you?

Just walk away from the players and no one will get hurt.

Hey guys, since I dunno if my region will get the HD DVD or i I´ll be able to afford it, can someone give me at least the highlights of Nolan and Bale´s commentary when it´s out? I´d appreciate a lot.

You might be needing an hdtv with an hdmi input, specs here (for Gen1 Toshiba HD-DVD player). It has an analog component video output and a regular rca video output (seen here below on the left and right side of the middle label) for disks that don't have any copy-protection which all of the HD-DVD disks have.

So you may need an hdtv to play copy protected HD-DVDS, but you don't need an HDTV to play regular dvds that this player can play.

No, you don't need a HDTV at all. The copy protection thing only limits the output of the video in High Def, but it will output any and all HD DVDs in a scaled down resolution, which doesn't matter if you don't have a HD TV at all.

So any normal TV is fine... but obviously you won't get the full resoltution befefits of HD.

And why are people acting all surprised about this new version of Begins on HD-DVD? This was all announced ages and ages ago - before the regular DVD even came out, I think. I remember reading about this in-movie experience as well as seeing screenshots of the menus etc a long, long time ago.

NO HD-DVD's have had the copyright flags so far, so they can pass their full HD resolution over either HDMI or Component. The only constraint over component from the HD-A1 is that SD-DVD's can only play at 480p, but HD-DVD's will output 720p or 1080i over Component just fine.

Yes. If your TV works with a DVD player it will work with a HD DVD or Blue Ray player. You absolutely do not need to replace your TV, if all you care about is being able to see the content.
