He-man Sequel Series (Netflix)

Based on clips and trailers, we can infer that the secret is revealed when the sword splits in twain. But whatever happens, I'm increasingly eager to see how it comes to fruition.

If I had to guess how the basic events go down, in the first episode, the big battle we see in the first trailer leads to a battle between He-Man trying to prevent Skeletor from opening a big portal or unleashing some great evil upon Eternia. He-Man discovers he has the power (heh) to stop Skeletor, but it comes at a cost: splitting the Sword of Power in two. He does so, stopping, and possibly locking away, Skeletor, but at the cost of losing the power and revealing his true identity as Prince Adam to Teela. Furious at him for lying and not entrusting his identity to her, she renounces her allegiance to the prince, going into exile. Then we get a time skip, leading into what the rest of whatever the rest of the show will be.

Thanks for these.

I like the look of the show immensely so far.

The whole set up of MOTU is so old school and pulpy. It is really like a throwback to classic Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers from way back in the day but with a strong streak of Conan-esque sword and sorcery, super hero tropes and elements with a dash of Star Wars.

I was a big fan of the recent Voltron revival on Netflix. It was far more complex in writing than the old show but I felt it road the right line in being "not just for kids" but not going too dark. The clip shown looks well dialed in and pretty "classic" just updated.

The "world" of Eternia has so much potential and they hopefully exploit that potential. So many places, races and lore they could use in many ways.

Yeah some gloss on this is what I expect in the first say two episodes.

It is time for me to once again advocate for She-ra and the Princesses of Power. I think I have even perfected my hook. Take Azula, and then give her the screentime of Zuko, and you have one of my favorite characters in the series.

Its strange, my recent rewatch seems to have only reignited my interest in this stuff more, rather than increase my dread of it. I am already making plans to spend $300 on CMON's board game kickstarter in the fall.

Okay, this line from the IGN review is going to lead to lots of fun on the internet.

"Prince Adam and He-Man (voiced by Supergirl's Chris Wood) are important, but they really serve as backdrop. In a manner similar to how Max acts as a lesser lead to Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, Revelation draws upon the might and majesty of He-Man to facilitate others' arcs. Basically, this is Teela's show."

God, the sexist chuds are going to explode

Preps cup for internet tears....

Also, The Verge posted a review that has major spoilers for the first episode, so you might want to avoid it.

Well we haven't seen it so assumptions either way are no use. All I can say is if the story is good enough people won't care.

Hello. I would like to introduce you to the internet. The review made a direct comparison to one of the best movies of the last decade. And you will still get people mad that that movie was more about the female "side" character than it was about the titled character. The chuds of the internet are going to be MAD MAD.

Oh god those spoilers...

Oh god, the internet is going to burn in a few hours...

Not going to lie, as a She-ra fan, I am looking forward to them turning on their "savior".

After watching the series, I wonder if they split the 1st season into two parts so that they can fan reaction and adjust the story per the response.

Turned on netflix...didnt see this anywhere. Had to search for it.

Animation dont work that way, these things take way to long to get animated. Pt.2 would already be animated if not in the process of being animated.

Netflix was weird for me too. The show pulled up on some devices but not all.

Thanks for breaking down the animation process. That makes sense that Pt. 2 is probably close to completion.

Just saw the first episode and i really liked it. Will be interesting to see where they take this show. Aside from the trailers, I don’t know any spoilers so I’m going into this pretty cold.

Despite some hit and miss dialogue and characterization, I really liked it.

That was QUICK! But I'll say kudos to them for the ending, I definitely didnt see it coming but I guess with this only be pt.1 of the first season...we gotta end somewhere and keep the audience wanting more.

I know this is considered a continuation of the OG series but I dont know how much that may be a hindrance for a new audience?

What I wish we'd get in the 2nd half, much like Superman and Lois....
She-Ra to appear to and help in defeating Skeletor
