He-man Sequel Series (Netflix)

It's well documented the series was announced as being eight episodes.

There are only 8 episodes ;)

If it was 10-13, I could've seen more logic in splitting the season up.
Where are you getting 8? I am not saying you are wrong, but everything I have seen says 10.

I'm going out on a limb here...

The Eternians status quo will be changed by the time the 10th episode ends. Many characters will remain dead. But He-Man? I'm 99% sure he will be alive. In what form? Don't know but it will be different than classic He-Man.
He got stabbed in the stomach, not the chest. I am pretty positive he isn't dead.

Voltron did 6/7 splits of "seasons". She-ra did that once. It is entirely possible, that like with Castlevania, they are doing this to test the waters for a bigger episode order. But of course, they also have the CG cartoon in the works, and who knows it Netflix is interested in two ongoing He-man shows.

Except Castlevania never had split seasons of such a short amount. Season 1 was 4 episodes. S2 was 8, S3 & 4 were 10 a piece. All the episodes dropped at the same time.

Well documented it's eight. It was announced as eight. Multiple articles have noted it's only eight episodes.

That is the thing. I have seen many articles talking about the next 5. Maybe the added a pair during production. Releasing only 3 sounds insane, unless they are like double length.

Even five and five is short.
I agree. Which is why I complained about it. :hehe:

I mean I guess you could do five and five, but this felt so incomplete and short, it felt bizarre watching. This "first half of a season/series" is shorter then most Marvel movies.

I'm seeing conflicting information from various sources:

Masters of the Universe: Revelation will be comprised of a total of 10 episodes, with the first five dropping on Netflix on 23rd July 2021.

A release date for the remaining five episodes is yet to be confirmed, but with all 10 episodes being produced as a single set, there’s no reason why the conclusion to the series couldn’t drop later in 2021.

In an interview with EW, Kevin Smith let slip that he had “seen part 2”, suggesting that the next batch of episodes is complete and ready to go whenever Netflix opts to drop it.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation - Part 2: Release date, cast for Netflix's He-Man reboot

The show is set for a 10-episode run, only the first half of which have been released at this point. The series has a number of twists and turns, with a blood-pumping score and exciting action to match. But the dialogue is certainly elevated by Smith having picked a home run cast.

Where are you getting eight from? Official source? Trade publication? Not trying to refute you. I just don't see anything about eight episodes anywhere.

“The hero gets really hit hard, and then the story becomes about how the hero gets back up again and better and stronger than ever. In basically stripping away all the comforts the hero took for granted, the hero reveals to him or herself what truly makes them strong inside and then have to rebuild.” Wood adds that Prince Adam does not die from that wound in episode 5, and will become the focus of the second half. “What they’ve done is they’ve found really interesting ways to turn the dynamics of the show on its head,” he says. “And raise the stakes to a point that the original never saw.”

Well I ask, where are these sources getting 10 episodes from?

Where are the sources for 8 episodes ;) lol

Can you post some sources?

Looking around I am seeing five for the second half reported not three many places.

Can you quote from a source saying only three?

I was mistaken now I think and was mixing it up with The Witcher in my head. However, I haven't seen any source state 10 episodes either.

If there were only 8 episodes in season 1 wouldn't it be better to split it 4 and 4 rather than 5 and 3? Of course that would require rewriting the story with the cliffhanger coming in episode 4.

If they cut the Witcher in half, I swear to God...

Seriously that show is already slow paced enough.

I don't think they would. I don't think Netflix ever splits up seasons for live-action originals, but could be wrong.
The only example I can remember is Sabrina. But even then, the show was done in a manner, where the "Halves of seasons", were clearly their own thing.

I liked that the towers and surrounding tracks suspended in the air in the afterlife looking like the Eternia playset from the 80s toyline, and the opening scene with paintings that looked like the said toyline's packaging artwork. Oh I see that Kevin's daughter had a part in the series but I never head her I take it she is gonna be in the 2nd half of season 1?

IMDB lists her in the 6th episode.

Is anyone else with me that:
all the previous Eternian heroes in Preternia HAVE to come back to turn the tide at some point? Is it just me or is that TOO big of a resource to not come into play on the side of the good guys at some point?

I definitely thinks it's possible, but I am not sure how likely. Though I guess with supped up Skeletor, it might be necessary.

Also is it just me, or is it a little funny they feel the need to tell everyone that He-Man is going to be fine? I feel like this release schedule was just a bad idea.
