Wickedly cool and entertaining animated Sci-fi fantasy anthology based on the adult comic magazine of the same name and stars John Candy, Susan Roman ("Sailor Jupiter"), Harold Ramis, and Roger "Squidward" Bumpass.

One of my personal favorites, it's gory and sexy fun for any fan of adult animation and Sci-fi and fantasy.

One of my favorite films ever. I love how each segment has a different visual style, and I also love Elmer Bernstein's score and rock music. Rich Corben's "Den", Bernie Wrightson's "Captain Sternn", Dan O'Banon's "Soft Landing", and Angus Mackie's "So Beautiful, So Dangerous" were all wonderfully adapted. "Harry Canyon" clearly inspired "Blade Runner" and "The Fifth Element", "B-17" is a nice little nod to the EC Comics, and "Taarna" is Moebius' "Arzach" meets Red Sonja.

Heavy Metal is a comic book geek's wet dream. This one, and Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards" and "Fire and Ice" are films that fans of artists like Frank Frazetta, John Buscema, Neal Adams, Bernie Wrightson, Mike Ploog, Richard Corben, Jim Starlin, Moebius, and Al Williamson should not miss.

This should've been my favorite movie but it sucks so bad that I find it very difficult to watch past where the woman gets undressed in the cab driver's apartment.

I have no idea what people are talking about when they say they like it.
The art sucks, the animation sucks, the music sucks (the production is so weak that most of the songs just sound like noise where there's a vague sound resembling unintelligible lyrics, and the recognizable songs are either inappropriately placed or mixed way too far down), the stories suck and the unifying device is re-tarded....the evil green Lochnar is the sum of evil, kills the dude and flies up and wants to tell the little girl about all these stories?

I love a lot of crappy movies, I love a lot of gratuitously violent, sexually perverse movies, I like a lot of bad movies because they're so bad they're funny, and a lot of bad movies because I'm not a film-snob and I genuinely love them despite the fact that it's not "correct" to like them...but this movie is embarrassing garbage.

Well it is a love-it or hate-it movie, it's always been a favorite since i was 11 when i taped it off TBS in it's censored version back in 1993. Then when i was 14 in 1996 i rebought it in it's uncut and uncensored video form.

Who else thought Taarna was quite good looking for a toon?

The most entertaining sequence is eaisly the Den sequence, although the Taarna sequence is interesting for the beautiful score by Elmer Bernstein.
