Hellboy 2 confirmed

Good news:up:
See how things change quickly? It was looking as if HB2 was on ice but now they've got a studio things start to pick up rapidly. Filming in April already, who would have thought.

Very happy that Universal has shown faith.

they have alot to live up to, hopefully it will kill

i read the article and the summer of 2008 is looking quite full, possibly a bad move

besides Iron Man and the next Bond (after Casino Royale)... what else is there? maybe that Cameron Avatar/Project 880, but that's it... "full"?

YESSSS!!! This DEFINITELY kicks ass!! I hope they turned around and said "look at this" and used all the Comic-Con panel talks and praise and everything and Universal said "we need to do Hellboy 2."

The great thing is that Guillermo would NOT let a studio pick up this movie if it wasn't going to get an incredibly big budget and exactly everything that he wants with it. As in, it's going to be incredible and Guillermo wouldn't let it be anything else... Finallyy!!!!!!:hellboy: :hellboy:

I dug Hellboy 1 but he better delievar a better boss-fight and a decent plot structure this time around

The Dark Knight. (sequel to Batman Begins)

yes!! finally someone picked up this potentially awesome sequel. ok so hellboy may not win any awards for story, but that was a fun movie and how can you not love ron pearlman? i'm glad the sequel is back on track

Good news:up:I liked the first a lot,i hope this time the main villain is less gooey and more like Kroenen,he was badass!

Great news, I loved the first one

Universal Pictures Picks Up Hellboy 2!
Source: Variety August 4, 2006

Universal Pictures will fully finance and distribute Hellboy 2, the Guillermo del Toro-directed sequel to the 2004 comic book adaptation, reports Variety.

The studio picks up a project orphaned by Revolution Studios, which made the original and distributed through its deal at Columbia Pictures. With Revolution out of business, the sequel became available and Universal slotted it for summer 2008.

In a script by del Toro, Ron Perlman returns as Hellboy, the humanoid creature born in the flames of hell who was deposited on Earth's doorstep as an infant and battles otherworldly evil for a covert government agency. Selma Blair returns as the horned hero's pyrokinetic love interest.

Lawrence Gordon, Mike Richardson, Lloyd Levin and Roth will produce the film, Mike Mignola co-produces and Chris Kenney is executive producer. Production starts in April in Budapest and London.

i guess
its better than the hulk 2
Slightly off topic, ok really off topic, Hulk is only good for MST3K fodder.

Back on topic, I find it a bit amusing that Universal is where Hellboy was originally was going to be made, but GDT left when Stacey Snider wanted to make changes and GDT refused to do them. Snider is now gone, so hopefully the people at Universal aren't going to fight with GDT about what needs to be done to make this another great movie.

For those of you that don't know, Universal originally wanted Hellboy to be played by Vin Diesel, and to transform into Hellboy (Not a Captain Marvel rip-off at all, really.)

The only thing that I didn't like about that report is the fact that Selma Blair is coming back, that girl couldn't act to save her life, easily the worse thing about the first movie.

YESSSSSSSSssssssssssssssss!!!

Now I have Screw-on Head and the Hellboy animations to tide me over till then

Provided that there's a decent storyline, there aren't many movies that will pose a threat, so bring on Ironman or any other movie.
