Hellboy II is still alive!!!

Please save my babies...
Lady, I'm tryin'!!!
Or was it, Lady, I'm doing the best I can!!!

I loved HB I. And I only saw it one time. It's what got me into the comic. I'd like to see HB II. And, though it'd never happen, I'd love to see Mystermen II.

Anyway, it'd be fun to have one of our artistic forum mates whip up a fake "Hellboy II" movie poster.

We all want a Hellboy 2 SM, and as of now it looks like that will happen, but nothing is guaranteed yet, so dont get your hopes up.

It'll take a long time before the film is released then...

Well, if Paramount get their finger out and green-light the film, it could easily hit pre-pro very quickly - but I would expect filming to have to wait until next year, with a possible release date of 2008. Just supposition, I know, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's fairly near the mark.

GdT's next project is The Witches, isn't it? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if Hellboy 2 didn't come out until mid to late 2008.

GdT's intention is for HB2 to come next, unless something prevents it from being so. I guess we'll have to see what Paramount do. Maybe there'll be news at San Diego Comic Con later this month, as GdT will be there.

When is the comic-con, the news about this project has been dead for a good month or so now, its getting disheartening.

19th to 23rd July. There will be a PAN'S LABYRINTH panel on one of the days and a booth there all weekend, so I know GdT and possibly Doug Jones will be there, although I'm awaiting confirmation on that. As soon as I have a date and time I'll let you know. Considering the reception they got at Fangoria last month, I think there will be major interest in what GdT has planned next. I have no idea at what stage the HB2 talks are, so I can only hope we might have some news soon.

Oh, and if anyone is going and is interested in HELLBOY ANIMATED, there will be a panel at 10:30 on Friday 21st.

Thanks for the info, i wont be going, but hope to hear some news about HB2

For those of you who can get to the San Diego Comic Con, Guillermo del Toro and Doug Jones will be there from 6-7pm on Thursday 21st July.

They're doing a PAN'S LABYRINTH presentation, but I'm pretty sure HBII will come up during the Q & A! If I hear anything, I'll let you know.

Sigh. I wish. I live in Scotland, so I'm not going to manage to go this time, dagnabbit :( . Also Guillermo and Dougie will be at the PAN'S LABYRINTH booth on the Friday from 11:30am to 1:30pm to meet up with fans and sign autographs, and an hour earlier at 10:30am is the HELLBOY ANIMATED panel. Tsk. I hate being geographically challenged. There's a lot going on, and I just hope there will be some HBII news.

Did you guys like Ron Pearlman as Hellboy?

Ron Perlman is Hellboy. Guillermo and Mike both knew it right from the get-go, and I know Ron will happily play the big lug until he's on his last legs - which at this rate, may well end up being the truth. Despite studio objections, GdT got the right actor for the job, and it is Ron's performance more than anything else that brings the first film alive. It is only the second character in Ron's long and varied career that he didn't prepare for - he went onto the set and played HB straight from his heart. The first role was Vincent, in the TV series Beauty and the Beast waaaay back in the late 80s.

I think if we dont get any within the next two months, then we can kiss goodbye to HB2. Damn, why is it always the franchises i like that this happens to.

Not sure I'd call Hellboy a franchise. At least not a lucrative one.

i agree the first movie lacked something

i don't get why there's so much hang up on making hellboy 2. ron pearlman is amazing and i thought that movie was a really fun action flick kinda like the blade movies. i mean come on it's not like this is hulk or something!?! i admit abe probably didn't do well with audiences cuz he's kinda weird but come on that was a cool movie.

That's not enough for Hollywood they want movies that will make them tons of profit.

Hellboy didn't really do that.
