Sci-Fi Helldivers Movie Adaptation

Never played the games as I only play single player. The 2nd just looks like Starship Troopers though.

I actually think they could have a lot of fun with this. Especially if they follow what they did with Fallout

The more good video game movies we get the better. Sonic has shown the template, just take the universe/world seriously.

Effectively, they are the same.

I've not seen the original Starship Troopers film in probably over 20 years, but it was a guilty pleasure, I think they made a few sequels but I never saw those.

Certainly interested at least on paper in a Helldivers film if they can keep it in the same vein as the game & Starship Troopers anyway.

Could end up like Fallout or... it could end up like Borderlands.

Considering it's by Sony... I'm thinking Borderlands.

Ryan Reynolds would be great as that
So, basically that scene in Deadpool 2, but put at the very front of the film and 4-5 times the number of hilariously and ridiculously violent over-the-top deaths, and replaced by a bunch of lesser known actors for the rest of the film? I’m down for that.

Imagine they pull a Steven Seagal in Executive Decision, hire a bunch of actors a lot of people don’t like, don’t put it in their contract that their characters are going to get killed off near the beginning of the movie, and they don’t find out until the movie premiere.

Wonder if they could get Jared Leto for this.

At first I thought this was going to be a remake of a John Wayne film, but that was Hellfighters.

Has no real bearing, sure it might help if a director has prior knowledge or interest in the IP he's trying to bring to life, but ultimately part of the job is to actually do your own reading, watching & general research into the various stories & lore you're trying to bring to life.

The same as actors & actresses getting roles as superheroes or villains. It's not until after they get the role do most actually start to get interested in a character & the world/universe they're in.
