Anyone that can help. I got a nasty hijacker on my desktop. The type that changes your background to say something about being infected with the balloons and errors constantly coming up and trying to redirect you to their spyware software.

So far ran:

Spybot
Ad-Aware (free version)
Spysweeper
Smitfraudfix

In normal and safe modes and nothing has worked. I think I have to go into my registry or something and delete stuff, how do I do that?

If you dont know what your doing in there i really wouldn't bother you can make things worse if you delete the wrong string.

That'll teach you to go on porn sites :p:ninja:

Wasn't porn this time. I downloaded a flick off the torrent site that said it needed some crazy codec and I like a dumbass I clicked on it then researched it realizing I just spywared my ass. So yes, that'll teach to obtain Hollywood's films online.

well normally i'd check for updates for ccleaner then run ccleaner.
then i'd check for updates for spybot and run that.

then if you still have issues, then use avg

im only use avg if im really screwed because i've gotten a trojan horse from avg before.

VICTORY!

I had to use:

Spybot
Ad-Aware
AVG
CCleaner
SmitFraudFix
RougeRemover
VundoFix
Rouge_Fix
HijackThis

There was so much crap on there that one item could find but couldn't remove but at least gave new information so I could search for that problem that I slowly but surely got rid of everything and have the most sterile PC short of doing a complete system wipe - which I was really getting close to doing.

NEVER use a codec that they recommend. If it doesn't work with DivX don't use it.
