Henry Golding in Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins

Revealing his face isn't a big deal, but if it's an origin story, and we're supposed to get to Snake Eyes' injury and scarring...like...we should see that stuff happen.

Yeah. It kinda reminds me of that dumb “Pan” movie that supposedly set Hook up as a villain in a sequel (that never happened) by making him an ally who does nothing the traditional Hook does and there’s no indication whatsoever that he would ever go bad. But wait! We have a throwaway line at the very end about Peter and Hook kinda maybe not always staying friends. Lol.

"[Some] movies have a sword fight, or a gunfight, or car action but this movie has everything."

Pretty sure that's a lot of action movies lol

They're not going to be wearing masks the whole movie based on my theory.
Yeah, based on what I've seen and read, I'm betting there is going to be even less time seeing the mask than Stallone spent in the Dredd Helmet........... And that was not very long at all. Few mins in the beginning and a few seconds at the end.

I would have been more excited about this film if it had a better director.

Paramount should take hack producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and fire him into the sun. How many franchises are they going to allow this idiot to ruin? Larry Hama’s origin for Snake Eyes was done perfectly in the comics so of course let’s change everything that made it so special. Lorenzo is already on record admitting that he hates Cobra and thinks the franchise is stupid. These are the people Paramount has in charge of this property.

He's not in charge, really. Dude's just a producer carried over from the Michael Bay Transformers movies who Hasbro kept on just because. Bear in mind, this idiot is the ONLY ONE who keeps insisting that Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts are going to tie back into the Bayformers movies, despite everyone else involved, including Hasbro themselves, overuling his claims and officially labeling BB as a reboot with ROTB being a sequel to it.

Hasbro, under their new deal, has more say in their adaptations now, so we may have a better chance of future movies based on their properties being better. Snake Eyes might be the one bad egg for now.

If I remember the 80's GI Joe cartoons and GI Joe movies released a few years ago, Snake Eyes is a mute. And he talks a lot here!

Do we know when the review embargo is lifted?

Just an update on my GI Joe mental health charity event...

I offered to buy out an entire theater of Snake Eyes tickets, and asked Paramount to send me a high quality jpeg for the flyer I was posting at local veterans places etc...and they told me that they did not want to be associated with my event and that I could not promote the film at or in conjunction with the event. So...I pulled my hold on the theater room and won't be buying tickets for the veterans.

Oh...and today I did an interview with Kirk Bozigian...THE product manager from Hasbro that was in charge of the GI Joe: A Real American Hero line (so...overseeing toy development, the comic, cartoon etc). He was not looking forward to the movie and had some not so flattering things to say about it. So...yeah...we are not promoting the movie at our event.

But we ARE still having some GI Joe cosplayers there (and...of course...we'll have sessions of art therapy, music therapy and mindfulness/meditation...as well as giving everyone veteran mental health crisis info from the local VA).

Yikes!

Sorry to hear!

He's clearly got some sort of control power here considering his longstanding association with both brands.

And yet Hasbro veto'd his claim about it being tied back in.

Doesn't mean much to me at this point. It's still his production company doing all the films. No one is offering a straight answer on how the Transformers films are tied together as far as I'm concerned.
