her first ouija board

I know a girl who used one once on Halloween and she won't go anywhere near one right now. I do believe in the existence of demons so there is no way I'd go near this thing. I can't believe this is being sold as a toy. These things were constantly used by witches for centuries. Just goes to show you that for a dollar, people will do anything.

So, they huddled over flat pieces of thin wood with alpha-numeric etchings on them asking questions to seemingly nothing?

Definitely not the image of darkness and black magic that one might conjur up thinking of "real" witches :oldrazz:

That's just lame, if you ask me

Also, not true. They were invented in the late 1800s and the patent was sold to Parker Brothers in 1866. The people that make board games.

Centuries is a bit deceptive if you ask me. This is a modern invention that has been around over a hundred years but that certainly doesn't give any credence to it's claims.

I want someone to buy a Ouija board, go to a 'haunted' prison on Halloween night, and sit in the dark with candle light and ask the spirits to come forth. Film all of this and post it here. I would give a non-believer some money to do this.

:whatever: You'd get the same results without a Ouija board. Throw anybody in a dark, candlelit location that has a "haunted" history and you'll get results.

Modern Ouija boards as we know today, yes. There have been items "similar" to Ouija boards throughout history. As far back as 540B.C. used by Pythagoras, but that's not necessarily confirmed as true or not. Regardless, I don't recall any actual accounts of witches using them outside of Hollywood.

I've used Ouija boards from time to time growing up and it's never turned into a demonic problem.

^

Ouija boards never turned you into the exorcism of Emily Rose!

Usually I don't support anecdotal evidence, but in this case I see it as the status quo for every experience with a Ouija board.

Does anyone have even anecdotal evidence to support Ouija boards being a demon's way to come and attack you?

A humorous and strangely pragmatic reason not to use Ouija boards was related to me by some Mormon friends of mine years ago. They said that the spirits of the dead are engaged in important work in the Spirit World while waiting for the Second Coming, Final Judgment and stuff. If we try to contact them with the Ouija board it's pointless and just a distraction from their Spirit World duties, so out of respect it's better not to annoy your busy dead relatives with stupid Ouija questions.

Not as interesting as the threat of demonic possession of course, but kind of a funny way of being superstitious and dismissive about the Ouija board at the same time.

I will supply you the funds and all costs related to you renting a video camera and also compensate you for time spent at $20 an hour provided you follow my instructions.

Don't waste your money man. $20 can buy you 40 tacos!:hehe:

Well now I'm interested. I'm curious as to what "work" needs to be done in the spirit world? Maybe that's what all the "orbs" are!? Dust stirred up by the spirits of the dead sweeping and tidying up?

I want to use a Ouija Board to find out who has a secret crush on me but i always cheat.

It would go down something like this:

Crash: "Should "so and so" make out with me right now?"

*moves to Y....then E....then S*

Friends & attractive female: "You know you moved it yourself!"
I'm about to make out with

Crash: "no, I didnt move it, the demons did! they're so mischievous but soooo right!" :awesome:

I was raised religious and I believe some things are possible. In high school some guys said they found one and asked it questions...this was right after Tupac was killed. It gave them the exact date of Biggie's death. Almost a year prior to him dying. When he died on that day they came to school like, "OH WE TOLD YOU" They were excited about it and I was like that's why I don't mess with that stuff.

Heh. It's mostly missionary work, from what I recall. Mormons believe that the Spirit World is a busy, bustling place where people are still converting others to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Kind of a disappointment for those who were hoping that death would keep them from being annoyed by Mormon missionaries knocking on their doors anymore. :woot:

I find it hard to believe that a mass produced product has the power to tap into the spirit world.

It's not that hard to believe, really. I'm actually surprised that no one has decided to mass market voodoo dolls yet. People will exploit anything for profit.

Why do demons need cardboard with letters to attack?
its not what its made of, its whats on it
That's pretty much how I am. I already don't think that they're real, so I don't really care about proving myself wrong. I think that spirits have a helluva lot better **** to do than answer living people's questions.
well, if you were stuck in hell, wouldnt u want out? thats what the board can do
Lol, that version would be rigged to scare you by bursting into flames soon after using it. Occasionally when you aren't home.
Eh, I'm religious, maybe not the most devout, but I do have my beliefs. I've never messed with a Quija board, but not for the religious implications, but mostly cause it never interested me. I've heard some scary stories about them though.
same here

it puts forth the CHANCE for spiritual/demonic trouble

again its whats on it, not what its made of, or how its made, but whas on it

A friend of mine used a Ouija board once. The next day, she went to the salon, and her new hairstyle was only so-so.

Coincidence or the work of demons?

I'm waiting for the iPod app version. I'll ouija on the go.

Being contacted by a Ouija board to a spirit has to be like being contacted by a telemarketing Rep to the living.
