Sequels Heres a question, Magneto is Jewish and a Mutant?

Im not overly smart about Jewish Religion, but my question really is what does Magneto believe in? because here we have a guy who was brought up and rediculed for being a Jew by the nazis yet he is a Mutant, and thus he believes is the superior race... over homosapians.

So at the moment im a bit confused. I havent really studied Jewish religion, i was brought up with the understanding of christian religion but like everyone else i know we simply do not pratice it. Or more favour science over faith...

I know this topic is quiet controversal but it also brings me to Nightcrawler, being a mutant, one looking like a demon and yet being a christian or catholic... it baffles me how people link faith as something that does not believe in evolution, yet we have characters in the x-men world that simply defy this?

Anyone else confused or can offer an explination?

i dont think he has faith in any religion at this point or maybe at any other point after wat he has been through in his life.. to him there is just God maybe? and mutants are the next evolution in Gods plan.. i dont think he has a faith in one any sect but more of a faith or belief in himself as Homo superior

It is particulary his experiences being jewish and the holocaust that have lead him to the views he has about humanity. If humans could have the ability to mass murder their own kind over difference such as religion or ethnicity what hope would there be for mutants who are essentially a different species?

according to the old testiment, the jewish people considered themselves to be the superior race, and they showed that by wipping out tribes and cities during the 40 years in the dessert. Mosses was a warlord basically, controlling a group of warriors that killed millions of people, and not just men, but women and children.. he also recruited tribes into the jewish faith to fight along with him... to me, Magneto in these films has always been a reflection of moses

Christian faith, properly understood, is not at all incompatible with evolutionary science. The Church has consistently held that the theory of evolution, whether true or false, does not preclude the existence of a creator God. Indeed, Catholicism holds that no fact which is scientifically demonstrable can contradict religious truth. Catholics therefore do not regard faith and reason as being in conflict, but rather as being complimentary. Only fundamentalist Christians denounce evolution as false on faith-based grounds. Nightcrawler is Catholic, not a fundamentalist, hence he most likely has no problem accepting evolutionary theories regarding the origins of mutants' abilities.

As for Magneto, he is ethnically Jewish. I am not aware that he has ever proclaimed to believe in the religion of Judaism. Certainly, the Jewish faith would not seem to fit his character as the utilitarian, mutant supremacist arch-nemesis of the X-Men.
