This happened to me the other day. I'm walking through the mall with my fiancee and this woman comes up to me gives me a hug and says "hey its been a long time. How have you been"? I'm looking back at her with a straight face, she says"you dont remember me at all do you".."I dont I'm sorry" was my reply. She said we went to high school together and we had alot of classes with one another. Went home found my yearbook...yes we did have tons of classes together Her name was kym dyson

I don't remember ever talking to someone and pretending I know who they were. There has been a time or two when I was talking to someone thinking they were someone else....but once I found out they weren't who I thought I excused myself and asked who they were. I've always had a trouble with names...remember faces great, names not so good....so I'm used to asking their name.

Faces I can remember. But I have trouble remembering my casual friends names from high school. I am constantly running into people I was in school or theatrical productions with, people I worked closely with, and I cannot remember their names most of the time. The 10 year reunion is going to be awful.

I've had a few encounters where I can't remember the person's name that I'm talking to. Just have to avoid introducing them to other people. One really embarassing thing happened about a month ago though, was hanging out with my friend and his wife and we tried to get a hold of another friend, called with up and when I mentioned I was with my friend, but couldn't remember his wife's name for some reason. So just left her off the people in attendance list, not sure if either noticed, but made sure to refer to her by name, once my brain fart ended.

My Dad has terrible "facial blindness." He can't recognize a face. He taught college students for 35 years and may be able to recognize 3 of all of them if one of them bumped into him.

I'm better, luckily than him. I'm the type that accosts people I know and they have no idea who I am thanks to my glasses and facial hair and thinning hair.

Well there was this one time where I saw some kid and he was like "Dude, we were in Biology together!" And I recognized him but didn't know his real name, so I responded "Oh yeah, they used to call you Big *****." He said yeah, and kind of walked away. Long story short, they called him that because some guy made out with his girlfriend and he refused to deck the guy.
