Not really heavy on the plot,.. bu real easy on the eyes with good humor thrown in,... This first issue of Heroes for Hire shows promise because the intro was done correctly.

You know :
How,
Why,
Who,
and what with.

You have enough questions at the end that point to the slow start of good writing.

Those of you who insist on talking heads or laying the information on with a shovel are not going to like this series,..

I know that as long as they write like this I will enjoy it - Everybody was in character - something I rarely see outside of Writers like Slott and *ahem* "Bendis with certain characters"

Having Misty Play hard-nosed Private Dick who narrates the scene was enjoyable for me because it spared me from each character declaring who they are and what they could do.

Having Orca, Paladin, and Shang Chi, as "muscle" is also a treat for me only because these guys have never been written as pushovers.

I hope when the dust settles that the original members of H4H do guest shots,... Maybe Mrs. Cage could join after she gets bored with domestic bliss,...(chuckle - put her in a yellow silk shirt with black pants and yellow boots first.)

I realize that my simple tastes are not shared by all here,.. but I ask you guys to give this one the ten issue test.

(SMILE)

This team could probably do a great Avengers book

slow week so I bought it and liked it allot! I think it was also the first CW book I have read (and I am not reading them all) that brought in a good sensible pro reg side. I think I may follow this for a bit and see how it shakes out post CW.

I read it, and i enjoyed it very much...for pretty much the same reasons you mentioned in your previous post.

I was a bit puzzled at first over the writer's need to describe each characters ethnic background (through Misty's narrative), but i quickly found myself absorbed in the story.

I thought Misty's plan to capture the villains was brilliant also.

Misty, Colleen, Shang-Chi, Paladin, Orca...i love all these characters...even some of the villains, like Equinox. These were all prominent characters when i was a kid so it's a treat for me to see them again.

Unfortunately, there's not an "X", or a "Spider", or an "Ultimate" anywhere in the title, so this book will probably not last.

Oh, well; Let's just enjoy it while it does.

I have absolutely no interest in a Heroes for Hire title that A) Has no Luke Cage or Danny Rand and B) involves them going after capes.

You might, if you give the book a chance.

Every team book out there has rotating members. Why does HFH have to be bound to Luke and Danny?

Considering Luke Cage is the original Hero for Hire and Danny Rand and him are the first thing you think about when you hear Heroes for Hire.

Granted, but if fans were to follow that line of thought, then no one would have bothered reading anymore Avengers comics when Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk, Ant-Man and Wasp were replaced by Captain America, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch.

I mean, i see where you're coming from; the original series holds a special place in your heart...i quickly lost interest when Ben Reilly replaced Peter Parker in the Spidey books....the difference was that i at least gave them a try before dismissing them.

Yeah, im not like that. I also have no interest in reading a title with Black Cat and Humbug. Humbug, seriously?

LoL i kept waiting for somebody to yell "bring out the gimp"

No but seriously the first issue was alright but I'm deffinitely not gonna follow it for long if Herc, Dane, Luke or Danny dont show up soon.

I read it and didn't think it was that great. The art and writing were mediocre. Not my cup of tea.

Exactly,...
Like the Thing,.. I expect this will die a fast death at Marvel,....
And Even I the obtuse one can see that old members of H4H will be passing through based on the stuff pictured in the first issue:

1. They will be actively looking for Iron Fist because for them He is Missing.

2. They will have no choice but to see Luke Cage during this Civil War mess even if they did say that they wouldn't go after heroes.

3. I expect that Shang Chi with his British connections will find himself running into the current version of the Black Knight.

If they keep the fem-vibe to the group,.. I think it woulde be cute if Jess did join them for a bit as "PowerWoman"

Herr and Misty would have a few disagreements.

I accept that I'm in the minority on this one,... And will enjoy this while I can.

And I have no issue with a H4H title that has ties to the old group.

Nightwing Restorations has a Long History with H4H.

LOL
I thought "Humbug" was a nice touch,....

This guy is GLA material and of real use to H4H.

Just like the invulnerable receptionist,...

Isn't Herc restarting the Champions?

i can only pray that one of his teammates accidentally shoots him in the face. he was a loser as a villain but i could deal with him existing. now he's an insult. they killed Scott Lang, created a new Heroes for HIre, and gave a complete deuchebag his powers. what happened to Humbug using sonics to direct insects? why the power change? it's aggravating. i hope the series goes down in flames; not charitable i know. but i would have been fine with just reading Daughters of the Dragon. i think it was the wrong move to expand the cast.

Meh, both Scott Lang and Danny Rand suck ass, so I'm fine with this Heroes for Hire. I feel it was written very well, and served a dual purpose as an effective introductory story AND a very interesting read in and of itself.

Violence for the sake of violence:)

Folk I want killed for good in the Marvel Universe,... I have BETTER reasons for killing them.

HFH was pretty good i thought. The art was ok but it's the start of the issue that rocked. I'll be getting the series for a little while longer. Def want to see whats to come.

This looked meh to me.:(
