Hieroglyph - FOX Gives Series Order to Ancient Egypt Drama

 Good. Now if only the same thing would happen to that Gods of European Egypt movie...

Why do you care? Who was forcing you to watch it with your eyes taped open, Clockwork Orange style? The show hadn't even aired its pilot. Seems strange to be happy about the cancellation of a show you hadn't even seen.

I feel the same way - at least with Sleepy Hollow, the reason behind having one of the leads be a white male made sense within the era they pulled from.

With this one, it's very much a situation of "How the **** does that work logically?"

Does the name "Marc Antony" ring a bell? You know, Cleopatra's white Roman lover.

The same person that forced you to type that response.

From my uneducated opinion, this seems more of a big **** you to Reilly and his attempts to move away from pilot season, since this show was greenlit under his watch & philosophy of developing new shows.

Way to miss mine.

There's a difference between having a verbal back and forth, and hating a show you've never even seen. I just thought you should have a more open mind, or at least not prejudge things. But this is clearly going nowhere good, so let's stop here.

I'm not sure if I can be surprised by this being cancelled. Not that my ambivalence towards it matters since Fox is leading a trend to greenlight then pre-cancel a new series before it's ever aired.

I would have given it a chance but Fox is not in the habit of giving anything a chance it doesn't feel is a sure bet, unless it's god awful "reality" television. "I Wanna Marry Harry", anyone?

So I guess we'll never learn what that vampire-thing was...

This is why you'd have to be a masochist to try and get a show made on one of the networks these days (if you're not a big, bankable name *). Can you imagine how the show-runner, writers and actors are feeling right now?
EDIT: *- I stand corrected. This guy wrote 'Pacific Rim.' So even if you are a big, bankable name! So if this guy gets that disrespected by the network, then unknowns are really screwed!

You can read Beacham's response on his tumblr: here While I'm sad that I don't get to see this, I'm looking forward to all the things that are coming out of Pacific Rim (second film, comic, animated series). Maybe it was for the best. Also, I think most people would associate Guillermo del Toro with PR before Beacham, I wouldn't call him a bankable name.
