So he's not Ramirez, he's a "variation" of Ramirez, essentially replacement of the character. Lame :disappointed;
so what instead of a Spanish-Egyptian-Scott he'll be a Viking-Māori-Piriate!?
Cavil already reads more like Duncan than Connor anyway, this thing is all over the frikin place...

Still should be fun, I like both actors, curious to see their new take and their spin I guess. Will they still use the Kurgen as the main villain?
Or someone from the Phantom Zone?

I think Crowe is a good pick for a Ramirez type character. He has done sword fighting before as well.

Kevin Durand should be The Kurgan

Damn, now I really feel the need to rewatch the original Highlander, it's been decades now since the last time. I weirdly hadn't even watched it when I actually went to the cinema for the sequel, which was far from really good. But shortly afterwards renting the original I realised why that one could have some fun cult classic quality without being a masterpiece. The 90s TV show was decent fun as well.

A remake really cold be a hit or a miss. But I'm curious.

Bautista will star opposite Henry Cavill in Shahelski’s revival of the 1980s classic swordsman movie. We hear he’s playing the Kurgan, a character made famous by Clancy Brown in the original Sean Connery-Christopher Lambert film.

Bautista’s a good get, but can he match the deranged ruthlessness of Clancy Brown?

Anyone else gonna question that the original MacLeod was 29 and Henry is 42 going on 43...

Bautista will be good but I hope this filming goes quickly so James Gunn can turn him into Mongul and get the ball rolling.

As if a 29-year-old in the 1500s would be even remotely fresh-faced. :o

Goddammit, Adler, you’ve got me defending Cavill casting. I thought those days were behind me.

She does but maybe they are changing things up and it turns out MacLouds wife is an Immortal?
Unlikely. As per THR, she's playing "Heather, MacLeod's mortal wife." Hopefully, she has a bit more to do than Beatie Edney did in the original, though.

It could be a twist they don't want to spoil? But yes either way let's hope it's a sizeable role.
