Highlander remake coming!

" co-writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway have been hired to pen a remake of the 1986 sci-fi cult hit "Highlander" for Summit Entertainment reports the trades.

Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown starred in the original Russell Mulcahy-directed story of immortal beings battling among humans, hunting down one another and collecting more power.

Lambert played Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod, Connery an Egyptian and Clancy a barbarian known as the Kurgan. The movie spawned four sequels and three television series.

Okay, I know what many diehards likely think of this, but I also have a great idea for the new Connor: Thomas Jane.

think about it. He looks eerily similar to Lambert, and we know from the 2004 "Punisher" film that he can already play a badass. If the Highlander producers have any brains whatsoever, they'll hire him. He's the only one i can think of, that would have anay chance of doing the role justice.

I prefer a true Scot...Then again i always preferred the Tv series anyway.

but RIGHT ON!!

I've felt this series needed a reboot for a long time...after the 1st film it all went down hill. It's time to reboot and revitalize the series.

You know, even the clichéd Gerard Butler vote would be appropriate here. He is a Scot, which would be the best bet if they were casting by star power and trueness to Connor MacLeod. Butler's name attached with a cool film that this remake could be would get some asses in the seat. Either that, or cast an relatively unknown.
