His Dark Materials

Glad they're gonna get to finish the series. I'm only a few eps into S2, but so far it feels like a step up from S1, and I'm very curious to see how they'll pull off that 3rd book.

I really liked the penultimate episode and I'm glad they got renewed. This season has gone by so quickly.

I felt so bad when Paola asked to hug Mary.

Finished Season 2 yesterday and thank god this got renewed because I don't think I would have been able to handle this show getting cancelled after that finale.

This season was great btw.

Much better season as it explained somethings better than the first one (poorly) did. Disappointed the second season was only 7 episodes. It felt like it ended abruptly.

Dafne Keen and the boy who plays Will are growing somewhat rapidly so that alone puts restraints on how long they can keep this going.

So I guess there were supposed to be 8 episodes but Covid interfered. The final episode won't air and they'll jump right into season 3. It was supposed to an Azriel centric one but that one bit was all we saw of it.

Not gonna lie, Season 2 didn’t pack any of the emotional weight like Season 1. Now, I have not read the books so I’m not sure what plots and characters were omitted, but it just seems like the pacing of this season was all over the place and the ending was abrupt.

Ah ok, that makes sense. I felt like something was missing. Still, I found this season to be much more engaging than S1.

I haven't read the books but to me season 2 made far more sense than season 1. I didn't know what the hell was going on season 1 but season 2 explained things more.

Finished the 2nd season yesterday, started out slow but certainly ramped up towards the end and finished with a flourish. Shame we never got that Asriel episode as it sounds interesting, hopefully in season 3 where I am very interested to see how they do certain parts of the books.

Production on season three begins.

Great stuff hopefully Covid doesn’t restrict them as much this time.

I'm glad they get to finish this story and I'm definitely tuning in for season 3 next month. I've enjoyed this show, though I feel like it's missing the sense of wonder it probably should have. Maybe that's due to the source material or maybe it's Jack Thorne's writing, I'm not really sure. Anyway, I hope they get to end this on a high note!

Just watched the first two. Forgot how complicated this is, lots to remember and catch up on.
