Hmm. Bruce was able to use Highfather's Staff?

In Batman/Superman#42 (no specific spoilers here) Bats actually did something with HF's staff, although he had no idea of what he was doing! Supes was grateful, to say the least. But it begs the question...what happened and why? Desaad only used the staff for energy projection. What up, people?

And oh yah, bummer about Bekka. But you never know in the DCU. I thought the character of Bruce was spot on, but it was a little annoying how every relationship he had was made unimportant just to show how raptured he was with Bekka. Undestating a point to make a point, so to speak.

Can't help but think that again, this ties into future Crisis.

I didn't even think Batman/Superman was in continuity.

Sometimes it seems to go in and out, but for the most part it seems out of continuity

It's out of continuity in the sense that it rarely lines right up with what else is going on in the DCU (exception being the OYL arc), but I've never seen anything in it that suggested it wasn't canon.

...Supergirl?

Set-up to Batman becoming a New God.

And JRK, that's what Ari is saying: Supes/Bats is canon.

I looked through it, I bought it, but only becaus eits on my list, and it has nice art. Bekka is hott. :( RIP

What about the Metal Men arc a few issues back?

I'm not sure if people are misunderstanding me, but what I said was that I believe it IS canon. It may not always line up perfectly with everything else going on (although I believe it currently has been since since OYL, and it did in the first arc), it's still canon.

Oh. Heh. My bad.

They'll kill Batman and Highfather will probably bring him back saying "Not even death can stop this man from getting vengeance."

That'd be cool.

They would have to resurrect Highfather first.

Nobody has brought up Batman's super anti-darkseid kicks? I still can't believe he drew blood.:csad::csad:

Is Dc REALLY trying to make Darkseid a B!tch?!?!?!?!?

Use was too strong.

My Spin:

He grabbed the Staff,.. it opened up his mind to see Superman, Superman saw him holding the staff and then crowded light in a place that had no velocity to reach him,.... All Bruce did was hold on.

We could account this to Darkseid being weakened, having just regained the Omega Powers and acclimating.

Of course, he still has his physiology.

And once again, Darkseid jobbed.

Yeah, that's actually what I assumed too, or something similar to that.

This arc here is a tie-in to Countdown and death of the new gods. As I said before in other threads this is the team (Alan Burnett & Dustin Nguyen) that I wish would stay on this book for a while. This has been the best arc so far since Loeb left.

In a Universe where Superman can have his Mind written over so easily,..

Where Batman can have his canoned discipline superceded by a case of the Horneys for a woman who's Godly power is a doubled edged sword, (If I understand correctly - She will want to lay with ANY man who wants her strongly enough,... she has no real choice about who arouses her.)

Where Highfathers Staff is the ONLY Item in the fourth world that can Access the Source and Superman was the only one who could go get it? (Oh Come on - Kirby established that there were people on New Genisis and Apoklolis who are on a Par if not stronger than Superman.)

Having Batman be able to Kick and knock down darkseid is a small thing.

Bring back Linda Danvers!
