Hottest Hypesters...

the most recent craziness I've heard of is when someone posted a .gif of Kate Upton in some thread. her **** are plastered in hi-res pics throughout, but heaven forbid we see 'em jiggle hahah, it lead to an infraction which lead to a ban lol. :o

Yeah, we're all just slitting our wrists here. God forbid we complain on a message board.

I don't care if you complain. But it's the same with the "child-proofing" of the site - like complaining, it's inevitable and won't change, so what's the point in taking issue with it?

I miss the "old Hype" too. And I'm often an advocate for more leniency when discussing the policies with the staff. But it comes down to Mirko and the Crave Network. He/they consider what we, the staff, and the community have to say, but it's ultimately their decision what sticks.

I'm sure it's probably a broken record for you at this point, sorry if that's the case. I guess an old thread being bumped gets a little nostalgia going, and I figure having some complaints being elicited in a thread like this can't be too out of line. It's not like we're throwing in digs in every thread we post in. As long as we keep the complaints in a thread that puts it in some context, what's the harm in that?

Personally, I don't see the harm in it. Of course I can't speak for the rest of the staff, but I do know you're not going to get in trouble for reminiscing or civilly discussing the change of rules.

I guess I'm just trying to get people to understand that we're really not the one's to blame, and that misunderstanding happens all too often.

TOB fights for our rights to...insult each other.

I blame TOB and the innocence of Mee.

Hey, even I was put on a probation ban.

Twice.

Damn MEE, you're still here.

Funny thing is though, this forum is no less mean than it was ~2005, it's just less funny and witty about it. It's like all the types of people that were picked on back then have suddenly become these blunt cyber-bullies. At least make the person laugh if you have to insult them.

I agree. The meanness has gone from hilarious teasing to people being insulting because you don't share their exact same opinion, etc. It's incredibly annoying.

Spoons your Dark Beast is scarry!:csad:

Haha, he's the best!

Everything evolves and we've gotta adapt and all that so I guess that means we gotta start being mean too?

I know I'm not an oldbie like you guys but I think it's more being cynical than being mean.

And I think people are really more literal now. I say something which I think is obviously in jest and people run with it and I just find it more hilarious to let them think I'm serious.

Don't worry Erz, I don't take anything you say seriously.:word:

I do miss that ridiculing people until they toughened up and fought back or left. :(

How many people did you send away with their tails tucked between their legs Erz?

Or at least sent them back to the Forum in whence they came? I'd say dozens.

One of the more spectacular freak outs that I can remember was JAL, who even would go on about suicide after I'd give him s**t about making dumb arguments and being generally illiterate, and from what I hear he's a somewhat more productive member of society now. We never messed with people unless it was in the spirit of educating or comedy. It's not like we picked on people for their looks or social status, we picked on people that were being stoopid, and more often than not we made them better.

edit - Haha, I just remembered one of my favorite moments, one guy got so flustered, he tried to post "Whoever posts after this post is an idiot" or something as some sort of way to get out of an argument that he was losing badly and hilariously, and he was so frustrated he double posted.

Ha, just found the screengrab of it on my computer that I took so he couldn't edit it away.

He sounds like your typical superhero movie forum hypester. :hehe:
