I was reading an artical on x-men last stand and apparently the war on alcatraz was refered to as M-Day aka the same meaning used for the advents in the comic House Of M...

So i was wondering, x-men 3 was heavly influenced by several comics, Ultimate, Astonishing, And New... If the end of x3 was like the house of M...Will we see X-Men 4 with influences of Decimation?

Doesnt sound that bad, i mean since M-Day in the comics, the whole story archs have gotten alot darker. alot more sinister in concept.
- The X-Men are grouping together and making a kind of safe haven for mutants.
- some mutants like Quicksilver goes to extreme measures to get there powers back.
- The histeria of the media occures when several caualties have occured due to the lose of some mutants powers like Chamber.
- A new sentinal program was introduced piloted by humans.
- A revolutionary new stand has been taken by the mutants called 198

I think there are some good points in decimation that could make it to x-men 4. i mean the aftermath of mutants losing there powers and what they do, some try to get them back, others except there new life, how does the goverment and others do with the remaining mutants. Although styker does play a big part in the future storys but he could be subserdised with other characters if translated to the big screen, Like greydon creed or Cameron hodge.

But to top this story we also have a rising Apocalypse story with all new horsemen.

So overall lets look at it,

Decinmation
Blood Of Apocaylpse
and
Cival War

x-men 4 anyone

The end of X3 was NOTHING like House of M or M-Day, so whoever said that needs a good smack.

The only similarities between M-Day (in which Scarlet Witch warped reality to depower 90 per cent of the world's mutants) and X3's Alcatraz assault are that

* In M-Day, Magneto lost his powers (he was cured in X3)

* In M-Day, Xavier was depowered and disappeared (he seemed to die but transferred his mind in X3)

* Many mutants lost their powers (many mutants were cured in the first wave of the assault of Alctraz)

* A woman in a scarlet outfit went nuts! (Scarlet Witch in M-Day, the scarlet-clad Dark Phoenix in X3)

But the storylines were entirely different. I don't know whether M-Day was any inspiration for what was shown in X3.

I think the reason they called that M-Day in the movie was the comic tie in and because alot of mutants lost there powers.

Please, compared to the actual M-Day in the comics, the amount of mutants that lost their powers in the movie wouldn't even be a blip on anyone's radar.
