comedy... ya I might get flamed for this... but I really hope this movie isn't just all seriousness with the downfall of Dent and a serial killer Joker... no I ain't talking about Dumb and DUmber comedy... but Begins had a lot of areas for improvement in this department (take the Lucious Fox scenes... the cops baffled by the Tumbler... entertaining scenes so good they make you laugh)... I am hoping Ledger gives an excellent all around preformance where he can be a crazy son of a *****... but funny at times... I mean he is the JOKER for pete's sake... I know this killed the prevoius batman's but it wasn't done the right way... there isn't a whole lot of potential... but there is some no?

The Joker should not be laugh-at-loud funny, he should be disturbingly, dark-humor, funny. If you have ever read Arkham Asylum - that IMO is the perfect Joker.

I mean I don't want the animated Hamill voice over Joker... but he was a great character... sure Joker has to be more brutal... I just hope they throw in some good jokes here and there for Ledger.

Anyone who thinks The Joker cannot be sick and funny at the same time, have you read The Killing Joke?

There was never an instance where I laughed-out-loud during the Killing Joke.

I did. More than once, actually.

I thought Begins had the ideal amount of funny moments.

Odd... considering that both Batman and the Joker themselves laugh-out-loud in TKJ, but I digress...

Sure, toned down. But no stupid one liners like ''Nice Coat.''

As long as it's not Goyer's one-liners, I'm all for some comedy amongst the darkness.

Bah, I liked "Nice Coat" :)
If thats the peak of Nolans Cheese (which I dont think a comic adaptation can do without) then Im all for it.

Nice coat was cool. It's like a little in-joke whenever I see my mate I say "Nice Coat" in that Bale voice. Ahh fun times.

What would you consider his cheese peak?

"there is nothing to fear but fear itself"
oh my god. when Scarecrow said that then got blasted in the face by Holmes... i just shook my head.

and i think sick and funny is where it's at. he's obviously always portrayed as a smart man with what he considers a silly wit. but to everyone else, anyone who can laugh at murder is just downright insane. i think that both can be adapted into the movie and it not seem hoakey. hopefully.

That quote fit his character so I dont consider it cheesey. If Dawes had turned to the little boy and said it then it would have been cheesy.

how was that cheesey? That 'fear' line doesn't count. I did, however, shook my awesome head at Gordon's cliche "I've gotta get one of those".

I did too, but then i realized i'd say exactly the same thing lol

NO, I didn't... Nice line (Gordon's).

i don't know. i just felt like it was so elementary for someone who is supposed to be so highly educated and mad. i was just hoping for something a little more profound right before he get's taken out by the damsel.
