So The Avengers is just over three months away, and I was wondering what you're planning to do to celebrate the event when it comes.

I'm hoping to get all my friends together to watch the Marvel movies leading up to it, one night after the other. Then on May 3rd have a big pre-Avengers party, leading up to going to the midnight showing in-costume.

Now all I need is some friends... :cwink:

Well, like i said in the 100 days countdown thread i will see the movie on april 12th!

I will see it with friends and other men (because it is a event called men at the movies)

Probably wearing a t-shirt with the Avenges logo or something. Dressing up like one of the Avengers is not something we do here in Belgium, but i should really like to do it. I should go as Captain America, because my name is also Steve!

I also will watch those animated series about the Avengers: http://www.newsarama.com/common/media/video/player.php?aid=37026

I will buy some large, resistant diapers, so that I don't have to leave the theater every time I crap myself in pure joy.

Good thread idea, cause I've been mulling over this question for the past several weeks.
I've been looking forward to this movie since I was a freshman in high school. Now I'm a sophomore in college.
So this is kind of a big deal to me and should be treated as such.
I'm already planning on watching all the MCU films in chronological order up until the release, that's a given.
As for the other festivities...we'll see.

Hopefully I'll be guarding the prescreening the day before openning here in the states, but other than that just simply making virtual models lol

I'm going to see the previous movies, watch the Avengers, go to the Dallas Comic Con the next day meet Stan Lee, then go watch the movie again.

Hopefully it all goes down without a hitch.

Well, as far as the "event" goes, I'm just going to see the midnight show with friends. But leading up to it, I'm already in the middle of a gigantic Joss Whedon re-watch (I've already done Firefly/Serenity and am currently at the end of Buffy S3), which will be followed by a re-watch of all the MCU movies the week of the The Avengers' release.

MCU marathon with two handful of friends. Over 12 hours of Avengers in row without pause. I just have to cross the street to enter a cinema, do when I write without pause, I mean without pause.

Some friends and I might throw a big party where we watch all the individual films, then we're planning to see the film together in a grand group outing.

That sounds like a plan ! I may have to do that as well, some of my friends will have to watch the movies because they are not a comic book movie nerd like me lol. However they will be " encouraged"( aka me and my other friends not telling them what movies we are watching lol) to do so and to go to the avengers movie :yay:

We'll probably watch some of the more favorited movies of the Avengers (CA, Thor and IM) and then start heading into town. The theater we're going to is attached to a place notorious for it's night life, so we'll get some drinks down at the Water Front, come back and get a bite to eat at the Cheesecake Factory, then go see the movie, then afterwards, have some Icecream at Sloans.

so jealous of ur plan warhorse it sounds awesome, my friends are not so much a fan of comic book movies as I am which totally sucks... I wish I had some fellow nerd friends lol :-( still should be an insanely awesome historical day though I can not wait :-)

When the movie is released,
I plan to see it as many times as my budget will allow.

I'll have a big MCU marathon the week it comes out. :D

Sunday: Iron Man
Monday: The Incredible Hulk
Tuesday: Iron Man 2
Wednesday: Thor
Friday: Captain America

BRING IT ON!!!

I don't know, I'll probably just play an awful lot of Monster Hunter...not that I need an excuse to play a lot of Monster Hunter games anyway.

I wonder if Cleveland is going to do anything special, since part of it was filmed there. Maybe all the extras should get a special screening. :)

Totally.

Oh, and not to plug myself, but I've got a webshow that's going big over Avengers anticipation and will culminate in something big when The Avengers film hits.

I will definitely watch all the movies leading up to May 4th and then see it at midnight (I hope). Nothing crazy. I'm also going to start watching any and all things avengers including the animated movies, united they stand and emh, after I finish my 90's x-men binge.

I might also do a playthrough of the first MUA game using only the movie Avengers. (The second game doesn't have Fury or Hawkeye in it, so I'd be stuck with the same 4 characters for the whole game, so I won't replay that)

Go out for drinks with my girl get a nice buzz and go to the midnight show. I'll watch it again with the dudes during the following weeks.
