If James Cameron's Avatar cleans up at the December box office this year, I think it's pretty obvious that every studio and their grandma is going to want his fancy new cameras for their blockbuster films. Digital 3D is something that can't be re-created on home video, which means that more people go to see the movie in a theater rather than waiting for the video disc.
On Fathers' Day, just a few days before TF2, I saw Up in 3D. It was amazing, and it definitely gave the movie a grand sense of scale that it wouldn't have had otherwise. Then when I saw TF2, I was blown away by the action scenes and the movie as a whole, but I could help but imagine-- how much would I be geeking out if this were in jaw-dropping 3D?
So, what do you think... Should TF3 be shot in glorious digital 3D like James Cameron's Avatar, or do you feel like it's just a fad that's not worth bothering with? Discuss!
