How do you spend your vacation?

The same way I spend my time off the clock: enjoying the technology called indoor air conditioning either while sleeping, drinking, eating, reading a book, playing video games or watching a DVD.

My buds and I have an annual camping trip in the mountains upstate NY. It's usually a week and a half to 2 weeks roughing it. Or if the little lady's off we take a trip somewhere warm where I we can go to the beach, be outdoors and where I can find a Kyokushin instructor I've not trained with.

Vacation? I took one day off last year.

I go to Vegas usually, plenty to do and see :D

Waste time on here, look for performing opportunities, listen to and ponder the same musical for hours on end. Yep. That is my life right now.

The past two years I've gone to a mountain resort hotel in North Carolina, but this year...nothing really spectacular.

I spread my "vacation" out over several 3 and 4 day weekends at work. Like this weekend.

I can't really go anywhere for vacation, not that I would want to.

In ten years I've never been on a vacation. I've had my vacation pay just added to my paychecks rather then actually take time off

I've never understood this mentality. Why not take a vacation? You'd still get paid, and you'd get to take a break to either fix some stuff up at home or just relax.

The last time I took a vacation, I drove down to Monterey for a weekend. I visited their aquarium, toured Cannery Row, hit up the Steinbeck Wax Museum, did the 17-Mile Drive, and stopped by a few bars each night.

I was planning a cross-country train trip for my next vacation, but I've switched jobs since then. I have to wait 'til next summer to take a vacation. I was looking forward to it, too. I've taken commuter trains before, but I've never traveled by train (no one in the US does, it seems). I was going to get a small room, watch the the countryside roll by, and down a few cocktails.

I spend it by doing nothing, trust me its awesome!

Sitting around in my underpants, playing with my.........belly button. :o

I try to go somewhere for a couple of days and spend the last day or two just relaxing.

not everyone has that option available to them though

By law, everyone should. I can understand if someone has time sensitive tasks at work and simply can't find the time to take a vacation in any given year, but you'd think the opportunity would arise somewhere over a 10 year period.

That's awesome. I wish I could do that.

My father-in-law is paying for a week-long trip in the Poconos, renting a house. He'll be there w/ his wife, my family and my sister-in-law with her husband. We do this every couple years or so.

As for vacation from work, I usually take days off based on family health situation (if one of me little ones is sick).

Plan to take a week off from work a week or so before Christmas this year for my website business.
