Apparently Britney Spears will be guest-starring as a dorky girl in Ted's office that has a crush on him... or he on her... not entirely sure, but yeah. That's happening.
I wasn't sure how I felt about it until right this moment... but... uh... BOOO BRITNEY.
Us has 411 on Brit's upcoming role on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and from the sound of it, she's not only gonna give another amazing small screen performance (remember her Christian conservative talk show host on Will & Grace? ), but seems like she's gonna have a great time doing it!
Here's the deets (some spoilers):
According to the Us, Britney has signed on to play "Abby, a receptionist at a dermatologists office who falls for architect Ted (Josh Radnor) when he comes in to have a tattoo removed."
The show's creator, Craig Thomas, says Brit's reps approached the show cuz she's a huge fan and wanted to do a small part on a television series.
Britney apparently heard about the role Thursday night, and said yes to it by Friday!
Britney showed up to the table read yesterday with only her acting agent and an assistant in tow. "She showed up a little bit early the table read is at 10 a.m. so she could talk to us and our director. It was great because we all got to know each other. We described what a fun, low-key environment our set was, and it seemed like that was exactly what she was looking for."
The table read went smoothly, everyone "seemed to click. She seemed to fit right in! She was having a good time. She was laughing. And its a very sweet, romantic episode, so the vibe in the room was just very fun. Everyone was having a good time, and I think she had a good time."
More details below:
"The episode's about Ted, our main character. Ted went crazy one night earlier in this season and got an embarrassing butterfly stamped right above his ass. Not his proudest moment. So he's now in the predicament of having to remove this tattoo, so he goes to a dermatologist to remove it and gets a big crush on his dermatologist. What he's sort of oblivious to, as hes pursuing this dermatologist, is that the dermatologists receptionist (Spears) is falling in love with him.
It's a fun, romantic comedy episode."
Britney will be filming one day this week, and the episode is scheduled to air March 24th! Set your Tivos!
The producers had seen Brit's acting work before and had given her the thumbs up. "One of our executive producers was an EP on Will and Grace at the time that she was there, and he thought she was great. I remember seeing that episode, and she was great. Also, shes hosted SNL. Britneys really funny! Weve seen her display her comedic chops before, so were thrilled to have her bring that to our show."
I don't remember how it started, but he once said (I can't remember the exact words) something like "and little did I know that my fate..." or whatever and they showed someone from above, holding that yellow umbrella. They've been showing her ever since, everytime the mother gets mentioned.
So I was rewatching the last episode, and when it shows the girl with the yellow umbrella, it blocks her face, but a black jacket and jeans can be seen...
in the club, Ted bumps into a girl, says sorry, and goes on his way. This girl was different than Garitto's girl (Garitto's girl had a dress on, while this other girl had jeans)... i think this can't be random chance...

I think it was just to fake us out, once they mentioned that the mother was there, they knew everyone would be looking for something like that.
The one thing I didn't like about the latest episode is why Ted felt so guilty when he heard the messages on Marshall's phone. The messages "flashbacks" weren't any different than what we saw originally, Ted just acted a little drunker. Every other time they've done this gag on the show, when Barney pretended to be Ted and the Pineapple Incident, the "flashbacks" told a much different story.
Do you watch TV? Cause if having too many pretty people on a show is a deal breaker for you, I have no clue what you're watching, since that's part of just about every show and movie.
I think everyone on the show looks pretty average. It's kind of realistic, IMO unless you hang out with ugly people all the time. Then, I feel bad for you.
Yeah, I didn't think the flashbacks were too different than what we saw initially. But I did like the talk that Marshall gave to Ted. He needed it. I think it's time to stop acting like Barney and move on. I just want to him to meet the mother. But I love it everytime we get hints like the yellow umbrella.
yeah, I don't want them to reveal the mother at the last scene of the last episode of the series. I'd like to see a relationship build between the two of them.
