How I Met Your Father - CBS Eyeing HIMYM Spinoff

Good luck with this. I cant see this succeed to be honest. Franchise is burnt down and Chris Lowell.. After he touched Veronica Mars and Glow, the shows ends cancelled. He is goos a supporting guy.. But lead? The cast isnt impressive.

That is also true when this show series finale went down in history as not only the worse series finale ever but as a series killer one as well.

Personally I never had any problems with the finale. I can still watch the reruns and enjoy the episodes for the most part. I just don’t have it in me to invest in another show like HIMYM. Maybe after the first season airs and I hear good reviews but right now I just don’t care.

A tad melodramatic. We have two ****ing people.

The only thing keeping me interested is Hilary Duff.

Wow Carter and Bays haven't done anything since The Goodwin Games and How I Met Your Mother ... That can't be right.

They did a pilot a few seasons back that didn’t get picked up and they have a film project in development with Kristen Bell and Jonathan Groff set to star.

I was wondering. Wikipedia just listed the Finale and Goodwin Games as their last projects.

Potentially insane to be trotting out theories this early, but I think I great way to set this series apart from its predecessor would be in not repeating the “first episode reveal that the love interest is not actually the mother, and you’ll have to wait until the end of the series to meet her” thing, and instead introducing “The Father” right off the bat in a way that leaves no one, including the kids, thinking there’s potential for romance and the rest of the series is about making sense of it.

I think the Father has to be the best friend’s new boyfriend.

Honestly the best way to set this show apart and not repeat the mistakes of it's predecessor is to let the ending be open. HIMYM had a series killing finale that it took an alternate ending just to fix their mistake. I just hope that they learn from their past mistakes and make it better. For example look at Friends Monica and Chandler were only suppose to be a one time thing and Chandler was suppose to end up with Janice. However because of the overwhelming response from the fans that changed. The same thing should've happened with Barney & Robin. So once again I just hope they have learned from their past mistakes and be better.

I still enjoy the series. The ending didn’t ruin the series for me at all. I can still watch reruns and enjoy the episodes individually. The only thing for me is that some of the jokes are a bit outdated and didn’t age well, especially in the current me too climate.

I'm actually loving how much more diverse this one is so far.

If they in any way mention Ted & Robin being together that'll be it for me.

I wonder if this will work... you can't just do a new "Friends" or "Seinfeld," but with different people. (I'm not saying HIMYM is on that level)

I could easily see this turning into something like "That 80's show"... :yuk:

And the voice of future Hilary Duff is…
