How I Met Your Mother

Barney should do her, video tape it, put it in his scrap book, and forget her name. If Barney falls in love, consider the shark jumped.

isn't the show about TED and how he and his now deceased wife met? if they met THEN its jumped the shark

 Ted's wife isn't deceased. He's just telling his kids how he met her. They never said she was dead.

The Barney/Robin kiss came out of nowhere. I was shocked. I know they hinted at their chemistry a couple episodes ago but I never thought they would go through with it. I applaud them. I just hope they remain friends no matter what happens.

Barney and Robin hooking up has been brewing for a long time though. Who knows if it'll last, both Barney and Robin don't seem to want to "settle down", they might just be friends with benefits.
It reminds me alot like the Joey/Rachel storyline in Friends. It didn't work then and it will not work here. IMO.
I guess we will have to wait and see.

Depends on the nature of the relationship. If it stays strictly as a "friends with benefits" thing, I could definitely see it working. Anything resembling even a crush is just shark-jumping stuff.

Good episode. I'm glad they didn't continue the Barney/Robin relationship. So Ted and Robin end up living together again eventually, but as boyfriend/girlfriend of friends? Should be interesting.

Yeah, the handled Barney and Robin hooking up really well especially the morning after. Wonder how Barney will win Ted back.

Also love the glimpses of Barney's job, what did Marshall say "I think this will put us at war with Libyia"

Watched it last night, okay episode. My CBS station's sound was screwed up though, for about half the laugh track was about 2-3 louder than the actor's dialouge, really distracting.

Friends of mine showed me some episodes over the summer so I made sure TiVo was recording it last night. I had watched the start of the first season but in earlier years it was also against Prison Break/24.

I did read that there will be more stand alone episodes this season. Pretty good episode, had its moments.

I'm not really sure how I feel about Robin and Barney. I hate when shows just rotate relationships among the main cast so this is the only other combination. I don't think Robin and Barney should end up together.

I can see it working, they do seem to work together better than Ted and Robin. Neither is really looking to get married, settle down and have kids. It would be interesting to see Barney in an actual relationship.

So Barney can never fall in love, in some of you alls eyes? That is pretty lame. I for one hope he ends up with Robin. Those 2 are a perfect match for each other. Robin always said she doesn't want to get married, but she never said anything about doing something Like Kurt Russel, & Hawn do. But Barney has to evolve at some point.

George Clooney bangs a different woman every week if he wants. No one has to evolve.

I just think with everyone in a relationship, it alters the dynamic too much.

I'm not a regular watcher, but it's a funny show. Neil Patrick Harris really is a prodigy. Doogie Howser wasn't really a stretch for him, in the fact that he's a genius.

I think it's the funniest show on TV. The ratings are on the rise, too.

yeah I'm wondering if Stella is the mother. It's looking that way but who knows?

Ted's kids should know whether or not Stella is a candidate to be the mother based on the fact that she has a kid. I don't think it will be her, since they thought it was Robin or Victoria, and neither had a kid.

It'd be kinda weird if Stella was the mother, seeing as Future Ted calls her by name in the narration instead of, y'know, "your mom".

Anyway, I'm still not feeling the whole Barney/Robin thing, but it's still a million times better than Joey/Rachel. For now, at least, because this has a lot of potential for suckage.

Barney's speech about bimbo's was awesome. Because it's true.

"Bimbos have been there for me through thick and thin - well, mostly thin - B man don't do thick crust whaaaat uuup!"
