How I Met Your Mother

Just saw the episode. It was hilarious. I loved it. It's funny how Barney roots for the villains in movies and his mom was a ****e when she was young. lol

Well, we already knew that through flashbacks from the episode when his brother showed up and when he told the gang Bob Barker was his dad.

I forgot about that. I vaguely remembered the reference to Bob Barker. I usually just watch each episode once. I don't remember half the things that was talked about last season except the main storylines.

Gotta agree with Barney about the Child Stars. With exception of Haley Joel Osment.

“Hans Gruber! Charming, international bandit. At the end, he died hard! He’s the title character!”

:lmao:

I just started watching this yesterday. Wound up staying up until 4 a.m. watching the entire first season. I'd heard this was good so often that I started to tune it out, but holy hell, it really is awesome.

Neil Patrick Harris' character is clearly the lynchpin of the show, but I've come to like pretty much everyone except Marshall. The vast majority of Marshall's jokes are kind of lame.

Marshall is one of the best characters, IMO. Marshall and Barney!

Marshall gets a lot better about halfway through season 2. Maybe at the end of season 2, but yeah. First two seasons he's not very on the ball.

^ Yeah, by the end of season two, Marshall comes into his own.

I watched last week's episode with Barney's hired family, which is what got me started on tracking down the first season, and Marshall was funny in that. I'm sure he'll get better, but in season 1 he's kind of dorky and unfunny. I think the few times I did find him funny was when he was paired up with Barney in scenes.

I loved when Barney was chasing Jane Seymour around and ended up in the hospital

I don't think they quite knew what to do with Marshall's character early on. Tell us what you think of him after you are done watching season two.
He's not my favorite character, but he does improve a lot.

When I saw Watchmen this weekend, they had the new preview for Terminator and all I could think of was Barney's description of the original.

Wait until you see the Slapsgiving episode.

Okay, you guys were right. I just saw the season 2 Christmas episode and I totally get Marshall now. He's cool.

No, that was season 1 (that I know of so far, anyway). Season 2's Christmas episode was the one where Lily and Ted were mad at each other because Ted called Lily a grinch (only it was really something much worse than "grinch") on the answering machine during the summer she was away.

Oh yeah, that was a great episode.

"But at least I didn't forget my PANTS, Marshall!"
